My mom is a big time christian, while my dad tends to "baby" her often (standing up for her all the time, lashing back at me when I criticize my mom, etc.).

Yes but the only options I had for haircut were crappy ones, and that was the best choice available, but yet I still look pretty bad with it :(. I only look good with long hair, that's about it. And I don't know why my parents can't stand the shortest of long hair!Disturbed_King

Well im 22 now but in school none of my friends had cell phones andI went to school in an area that is far above average income... why do you need a cellphone? I dont have a cellphone now and i certainly dont need one.

Grade 9, freshman in high school. The reason why I demand a cell phone is because I know that I'll need it in a lot of situations such as friends or sudden emergencies.

easy... they call my home phone number? I guess no one really phones me much, but even back in school when i might play football with people on the weekend and things there was no need to have cellphone, maybe 1 person in the whole group would have had a phone...

Then you did not seriously live in an area with "far above average income".. i don't know a single person that doesn't have a cell.. most people anymore are dropping their land line for a cell because it's so much more conveinient

I'm talking about parents that buy their kids alcohol and do whatever their kids want them to do to try and be their best friend.. that is not a good parent at all.. so many now are trying so hard to be the kids' best friend and totally forgetting what a parent is..

Discuss with them.. and tell them they dont have power over you... dont go back joust do it

Criticize .. with bad facts about them...

And then, dont talk to them or feel any emotion, for a week or so...

im 14 and in grade 10 and almost onto 11 but by the time im in 11 ill be 15 . But as for your problem my parents are really easy going, but i have a friend whos parents are like that, i know how annoyin it can be as well beucase he cant go and do stuff we do, just talk to them and tell them you need pricacy etc, as for hair, my parents bust my ass about my hair too all the time (personally i think bald looks badass), as for a phone i just got mine because my bro got one for his bday so i got his old one, but i neverly really cared for a phone, i rarely use it. Just talk to them and tell em how ya feel

this isnt anywhere near total lockdown...or even irregular,your over reacting.i had the same problem with my dad,i have long hair and he just wanted me to look presentable,and keep it out of my eyes,he will forget about your hair though,i think dads have there own litle "period" thing they go through,where for a couple of weeks theyll be total d heads,then they calm.the cell phone thing,is simply because

A-money.it cost alot.they dont trust you(and have no reason to if you keep arguing with them)to keep the expenses down
b-times.cell phones are new to them,they never probably had the new tech when they were kids.

idk,i just held out when me and my dad had problems and it was total hell.i hated it in the long run honestly(ill never admit that to him)just do it for him,stop fighting him for a couple of weeks.that would be the best thing to do.but then again,its normal to fight over little things like that.
