I'll never understand the constant battle between rap and metal... both have their positives and negatives. You're free to have whatever opinion you want though. I sorta think you are stereotyping rap as a whole based on a few songs you heard but thats your choice to make

I always wondered why it's always rock/metal vs rap, you don't see many dubstep vs house, rave vs rap, ****cal vs rock

At this point I believe most teenagers will buy anything. Just tie it to a hip and cool image. After all when you're a kid you GOTSTA be cool.

And a lot of it senseless like that. It's like improve, it's not clever it's just slapped together because it rhymes.

Personally one of my most favorite "rappers". Rap isn't always about misogyny, inflated egos, and violence. Just as metal isn't always about Satanism, white supremacy or violence.

Good music is an art, and in any art form you have your poseurs, your typical doers and your boundary expanders.

I'm a fan of both, if you think rap suck you're doing it wrong, that's called the modern-hip-hop. Rap is the old-school-hard-core-hip-hop-with-rhythm-and-poetry. Listen to Tupac and Ice T or NWA, you'll change your mind.

Most rap does suck, but the little gems of great artists shine over the gigantic turds.

Not all rap is awful. The stuff nowadays is, but go back a decade and you will understand.
