And you know what? It's not as bad some people say. It's not awesome or great, but it was entertaining. It was okay.

Here's how I rate it...

Lack of involvement from the other Lanterns: -1

Main character: 0

Plot: +1

Long, unnecessary monologue from the antagonist (Parallax) that left him vulnerable: -1

Second antagonist (Hector Hammond): +2

Stale love story: -3

That's as far as I'm going to go. On a scale of one to ten I'd give it a 6.5.

There were a ton of cheesy moments, but hey, the old Star Wars movies had the cheesy moments too and they've been worshipped like gods. The love story is lame, they should have left it out or made it more interesting. Hector Hammond made the movie so much cooler than I would have anticipated; easily the best character in the movie.

TL;DR: The movie isn't complete garbage like most make it out to be, and Hector was cool. It's a good summer movie; you people are just awfully picky. :P

For those who've seen it, what do you think of it? And, since I know what most of you will answer, why do you think it was a turrible movie? Please be constructive about it; if not... well...

The movie is mediocre IMO. I wouldn't put it at the bottom of the barrel like 1990 Captain America but it certainly wasn't a great movie. If the action was done better, the jokes being funnier and a well told story with more even pacing then maybe it would had a chance at being worthy.

I thought it was ok to be honost.

There were parts of it i really liked.

That being said it really felt like it was just going by the numbers.

Yes i know every story has a typical story-arch style, but if it becomes pretty obvious how things are gonna that is a negative.

With that said though. If this was the only Green Lantern movie ever made, i would be satisfied.

Not amazing, but not terrible either.

I personally think what really screwed this movie was Hector hammond. While his acting wasn't bad by any means, his character should have been scrapped from the movie and the story should of focused more on Sinestro and Hal's relationship. That way they could make Phalanx a more dedicated villian rather than split screen time Hector.

yeah, now that i look back at it. Hector did seem like out of place. Especially with the Parallax villain and the foreshadowing with Sinestro.

Based on the scores you gave to individual components of the film, I don't see how you came to the overall score of 6.5. I haven't seen the film and don't plan on ever doing so.

The individual components and overall score weren't really tied together, sorry for that mix-up.

I thought it was pretty good.

The main things I want from a sequel:

1. Less Corps backstory

2. Less Earth time

3. The downfall of Sinestro

4. More action

5. The introduction of John Stewart or Guy Gardner

6. A hint towards the Star Sapphires and other Corps

I mainly felt that the problem with the movie was that they were trying to cram too much into it, they should've saved Parallax for a later movie, he's too big of a bad.

I would have agreed with you up until they made the parallel between Hector and Hal so evident closer to the end. The two of them are essentially exact opposites of one another in every way, so as a villian to introduce us to GL, I thought he worked well enough.

They're obviously saving Sinestro to be the sequel's baddie, but seeing as GL has become this year's go-to hate movie, whether or not a sequel will happen is up in the air.

I personally would love to see another one. I enjoyed this movie, and feel most of the hate is generally unwarranted (and honestly, a lot of the hate just sounds like people WANTING to hate this movie, rather than accepting it for what it is). It's a fun movie that doesn't take itself seriously and openly acknowledges and pokes fun at it's own flaws. It's not great, but I would say it's good, and I had a good time seeing it, so I just really, really don't understand why this movie is getting hated on as badly as it is.
