I get that. point is. it makes it hard to care for an land called Israel when it wasn't called that, and it's inhabitants didn't call it since 132 CE. For nearly 1,816 years, there was officially no Israel. until 1946. I don't care what religion you are, if your gonna ignore the 4-5 million Palestinians living in their HOMES (what remains..) of what they call Palestine. Because an ancient text names the lands (yes they do exist, but they're not called that by the inhabitants anymore). to say "we will make it so again, because we can... because God says it in the *insert holy book here*... because God demands it!..." or "because it is prophesied in the *insert holy book*". Makes it as bad as the villains you make out on the other side.

It is not just biblical texts that say the land belonged to the Jews...

Went from Jewish hands, to Roman, to Islamic, to Christian Europe, back to Islamic hands, then back to Jewish.

That area has always been about who can hold onto it with force. I just wish Israel would have taking the higher road (negotiations) this time.

that doesn't make it right. It's the same sort of thing when i think of slavery, in historical terms. It had to end at some point. taking the land by force. Might makes right /= right. Let no one make the mistake, i'm NOT saying modern state of Israel should not exist. it's there it's been there for 60 years. What i'm saying is what remains of Palestine can still be Palestine. I still firmly believe that if you can get peace between Palestinians and Israel, and there be a two state or a one state solution (by one state i mean Palestinains get annexed into Israel, however with the current growth rates, there wouldn't be an Israel... so it's not in Israel best interest to go this route as mucha s it continues to entrench itself in the occupied territories). You will see other Arab states open up more to Israel. until then it's political suicide for Arab leaders to do so. Mark My Words.

My dear friend there is a reason why Israel has not hit Iran yet. Do you understand the damage Iran would do to Israel let alone the damage its proxies would do? I was reading the other thread on Iran threatening America and couldnt believe some of the posters support for israel (even though the strongest military power in the middleast) and how they would be able to destroy Iran its just Hilarious I mean Israeli think tanks dont even think Israel could handle it. The only way israel could attack is by after attacking the US would stop iran from retaliating other than that israel would be in a world of trouble no matter how superior there equipment is ( and irans military power is actually not that bad which is why the US consideres it a threat to its interests)

lets see.. israel has nukes and one of the greatest air forces IN THE WORLD. Israel could destory Iran whenever they wanted lol.

The US backs them up, that's why.

But yes, I have no opinions on this. The world is just messed up nowadays.

I wouldnt even call them rockets more like little duds and they sometimes dont even make it to israel terrotory. I wouldnt call them harmless though im sure there where a couple of deaths for every 8000 rockets but what doesnt get put on in american news is that each rocket fired gets a response from the israeli airforce killing or injurying a couple of palestinians. Check out the death rate ratio between israeli and palestinians and trust me the arabs are not the ones causing the terror

I have nothing to say to this. some people here know me to be an israeli and a former combat NCO in the IDF.I've been all around conflict areas for years.and ususally I stand up to defend the Israeli government because the amount the unjustified hate and myths regarding israel is staggering,and are mostly(almost always) untrue. but I never thought they would go down this road. I agree-it's aweful and undemocratic,something we as a country pride oursleves as being a stronghold of democracy.even if this decree is done to mitigate the amount of illegal immigrants into the green line(which is a dire problem),it's been manipulated to the point that you can call it draconian and inhumane.and can be done only because the law in the bank is military law and not civil law.israel needs to detach itself from the Wbank as it did with gaza,and fast. The fact that most of you swayed this topic to talk about an irani-israeli conflict or how the israeli airforce retaliates(rightfully and to enemy targets and launcher-crews,no worse than coalition forces are doing) after the kassam rockets being lobbed ,day and night, into israel,or called israel nazi(yet again) just shows me how immature this board can be sometimes and how little some of you really know about things not directly under your noses.why not debate this topic and not be dragged into a flame fest that shows again and again that somehow israel is the only country that is fair game to openly call for it's annihilation.
