I do 70-80 hours a week of construction in the summer. Training lasts even longer sometimes, easily going over 90 a week. Luckily that doesn't stay all year though.
I work 26 hours a week, but I bring lots of work to do at home, so it adds up to the stipulated 35 hours I'm supposed to work every week. I must say I feel those extra hours working at home necessary in order to feel I'm not wasting my time. Otherwise I'd feel I'm cheating. Now if you ask me to work beyond 8 hours... well... I work for a living, not live for working, although I wouldn't really mind if the extras are good too. After all, I'd be giving up part of my "life". I'd think of it as in "I give you $xxxxxx and in return you die 10 years earlier than you should. Deal?"
