... I think this guy (Scott Wolf) could play the main role (he looks and acts so similar to Michael J Fox).

I even had the idea that he could be the SON of Marty McFly, and start where BTTF 3 left off, creating a new trilogy for this generation.

Now don't start on me, the first 3 were masterpieces and I know they should be left alone, but just in case it does happen, let's come up with some plot ideas???

Marty has to go to the far future where they've invented a cure for his constant shaking.

I really wish he could, and maybe cure everyone of that terrible disease. But let's leave his illness out of this, I was more referring to the actual plot. Michael J Fox could even make a cameo.

Perhaps it could be animated?

The guy they got to voice him in the Telltale video games did a spot on impersonation of Marty.

They already had a short-lived animated series in 1991-1992.

Marty was hardly in it, it was focused on Doc Brown's kids

I hope not. The first three movies are classics and frankly I don't trust Hollywood to not f*** it up. The TellTale games are worthy enough to be a sequel anyways.

It's like if they tried to make kids shows out of R-rated properties like Rambo and Roboco-
oh wait.

No thanks, really. Back To The Future ended just fine with the third movie. A remake/late sequel would be out of place after so many years, also considering how popular movies like the Bay movies are with teens and kids then a Back To The Future movie today would not have the same charm as they did in the past since those movies were not focused on explosions, pretty CGI, dumb plots and badly written characters like much of today's movies. The Back To The Future movies are timeless and should never be touched by the ham handed approach of movies today.

The plot should revolve around a fan of the original trilogy than upon finding out about this atrocious idea, he'll go back in time, find who will be the parents of the Hollywood executive that had the idea for a Back to the Future 4 were, come up with some convoluted scheme to make sure they never meet, therefore never marry to give conception to said future Hollywood executive. Then upon going back to the future, he'll see how the Hollywood suit banishes from existence. The End. (Yes I know there is a paradox, but screw it, it is a movie.) But seriously, just no, why is Hollywood so creatively bankrupt nowadays? Just because the 80's was such an amazing decade for movies, doesn't mean that every one of the ideas that came out on that decade has to be strip mined into oblivion.

There's already a fourth Back to the Future movie in the works.

Here's the trailer.

No, no, no. Let's just leave BttF alone. We already saw what happened with Indiana Jones when they made a fourth movie. *shudders*

Yes I know. Like I said before, it might happen but was just wondering how some plots might go.

He's had some good movies before, and acted pretty well in them. But these days he just grabs anything and acts the same.

They should use a black protagonist and call it "Black to the Future".

We don't need a fourth movie tell tales back the future game with a solid 15 hours of content adds way more to the back to the future story then any movie could and imo is better then all 3 movies even the first one(Still great/good films) If your a fan and haven't played it your missing out.

He looks like he would be a great replacement for J Fox.. But a sequel or remake just isn't necessary.

People would hate it automatically. This happens with all the movies from the 80's that get a sequel today. Indiana Jones comes to mind

Considering that 2015 is coming up (the 30th anniversary of the release of the original as well as when part of the second movie took place) I would assume that if they gave the green light now that would be when they would want to release it.

Of course, they would still have to answer why in 2015 we don't have laser discs, Princess Diana isn't the Queen of England, we don't have flying cars, men aren't wearing double ties, and several other things we probably won't have by 2015.

Granted, after the events of 9/11 it's unlikely we will EVER let private citizens use flying cars even when the technology is cheap enough to mass produce them but like the death of Princess Diana I'm pretty sure the movie makers didn't see that coming.

Learn from Star Wars and Indiana Jones...no good can come from expanding original Trilogies.
