I'm not sure, living in the UK isn't too bad. :PDanC1989

Hell_Dude

Actually, the really poor do get access to medical care. They can get on medicaid which will pay all their bills. The people who get screwed are the "almost poor" - those with some but not enough. they're not eligible for medicaid and get stuck with the bills.

Having lived in the US all my life I would love to atleast visit Europe. Would have to spend some time in different countries to see if I like it more than the US. Of course, I havent really been all over my own country yet, so that would come first.

I believe in England that it costs at least 2 pounds to freely speak your mind - plus tax. Do that enough and it adds up.

For goods and services, i'd probably choose America. They always get everything first leaving us to wait months for content that doesn't even have to be changed. A good example of this is having to wait months for Rocky Balboa.

Although, from another point of view, the US economy is falling apart, so i'd prefer to stay in the UK where the pound is nice and strong.

I'd rather stay in the UK than move to the US or Central Europe. By the way, countries like Germany, Italy, France and Spain are all significantly different, in style and substance.

"Jeez, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Southern France and Turkey, does not have bad weather at all, learn your facts."

I see where I'm at fault. I should have been more specific; I was primarily referring to the UK's weather. Why would I be talking, almost exclusively, about the UK? Because the UK is the English speaking country I would move to if I absolutly had to move to a country in Europe. I don't even think the majority of people from the countries you listed even speak english, which would then create a whole new list of problems for why I wouldn't want to move to any of them.

"Too close to mid east? Thats just general american arrogance, that is not a problem. If terrorists want to attack, it wont matter where you are geographicly and they do attack."

I don't know about you, but I feel far safer across that big ol' Atlantic than I would be if I were wherever you're at. It's just that, if the terrorists wanted to attack, the EU would be a far more convenient target for them. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there's quite a population of Muslims in at least France and in the UK. Not that that in itself is a bad thing. It just increases the chances of there being Muslim extremists.

"We were not the ones who had two buildings destryod by some piissed of muzlims."

A very rare instance; we have not been attacked since then, fortunately.

"And for gass, we are way ahead in research, we dont look to the past but to the future!"

We already have many fuel efficient hybrid vehicles on our streets. Also, ethanol, electric, and hydrogen powered vehicles are not that far away either. Many promising concepts have been unveiled in the past few years, and there not like those POS hatchbacks either.

"Too cramped? Its not cramped at all, its true there are alot of immagrants and EU is far more ghettoised, but its better than americas, rich white areas and poor black/hispanic areas totally cut off from eachother, like its discrimination."

Hmm, well, I was referring to the UK. I've heard that most people in the UK don't have a car simply because they would have no where to put it (Like NY, but for asignificant part of Britain). At least that's what my uncle told me a while back, when he used to live there. All I know for sure is that I wouldn't move anywhere if I couldn't find a place to park my car. :)

"The states is the most hated place on the planet, thats why most wouldent choose the states, atleast we still have a little culture over on our side too."

This is the part that kills me. WHY does the world hate us SO much? Is it because of our lame President? Is it because we're so talked about? Is it because we're the world super power? WHY? WHY? WHY?

I'd much rather live in the U.S. than in Europe, at this point. I think I'd do well to retire in Europe, and I eagerly visit every year or so, but there's something distinctly exciting about America that will keep me here while in my youth. We have the best and the worst of the world here, and being such a young country it can't be denied that there will be a lot of turmoil in the near future. In short, there's too much to see for me to reside somewhere else. Beyond that, our country has the finest foundation of any, which works brilliantly at filling me with hope for the future and desire to see how things will turn out for us, no matter how bad they may be sometimes.

As for where I'd move in Europe, I'd probably say Greece or France. I dig Germany and Spain but I hate German law and there's no way in hell I'd pay taxes to a monarch (which obviously rules out the U.K. as well).

Er, what? To my understanding, every part of the U.K. pays taxes to support the monarchy. Beyond that, the monarchy has only been paying taxes (at least income taxes) for about 15 years or so.

lol... thats a bit of a stuid comment... jsut cause britain is smaller than America we mustnt have enough sace to park our cars :| umm not really sure where to start with that one... if he was referrring to cities if you live in an appartment then well either use a multi storey carpark or dont have a car(i would also be very surprised if Britain is the only country in teh world where parking can at places be limited for appartments in the centre of a city). But if he meant in the suburbs and stuff in Britain then either hes lieing and never been to britain or he HADS been to britain but is lieing anyway......

there's no way in hell I'd pay taxes to a monarch (which obviously rules out the U.K. as well).

as far as I knew we stopped paying money to our monarchy centureis ago when british parliament came into full force..... sure we still have a monarchy but nobody really gives crap waht the queen has to say anymore... they might listen but never act upon it..... shes just there for show really.

Just looked into it, folks. Dunno if my source is accurate, as it sounds ridiculous, but it says that 75,000,000 pounds go to the monarchy every year (this comes from all around the world, mind you). I mean, good God, folks! We only pay a few hundred throusand dollars every year to our useless and unelected leader. Sounds like you're getting ripped off even worse than we.

There really aren't that many monarchies in the world, or at least not that many significant ones. As of the early 90s, there were nearly one and a half billion people "under the English crown" anyhow, so it really doesn't seem too unreasonable to me.

Either way, I can't vouch for the source, personally, but it looked clean.

I'm perfectly content in the US. I don't hate Europe, it's just, I like where I'm at. Although I'd like to visit Germany someday...

"The states is the most hated place on the planet, thats why most wouldent choose the states, atleast we still have a little culture over on our side too."

This is the part that kills me. WHY does the world hate us SO much? Is it because of our lame President? Is it because we're so talked about? Is it because we're the world super power? WHY? WHY? WHY?

agilefalcon16

Because the world is jealous. As much as I hate to say this, and knowing how much flack I'm gonna get for typing it up, the rest of the world is pissed because we are...sorry everyone but I have to say it...better. Don't hate me!
