If you could direct your own movie, what genre?

Exactly as the topic says, If you could direct your own movie, what would the genre be?

I would most likely make a comedy. Those are the kind of movies that I enjoy. It be a good comedy though, not like The Love Guru, like a good Judd Apatow comedy movie.

What about you OT? What genre of movie would you make? Why?

Horror. I think there's a lack of good horror movies in Hollywood.

A hockey movie. I would know how to make it authentic which I can't say for other movie genres.

Something along the lines of a good Scorsese movie. A crime drama of sorts. I've always enjoyed good crime movies.

I would make either a horror movie or one of those philosophy-type "wtf is going on?" kind of movies. :P

Something in the lines of a Jean Claude Van Damme or Steven Segal actionmovie, those are so great. Maybe evenVan Dammevs Steven Segal, or Segal and Damme on the same team vs some random evil guy.

Or Bloodsport/Quest/(the rest of that kind). Go to tournament, friend gets killed/injured, beat evil guy in finals. Van Damme should be evil and Segal as the good guy. That would be great. Better reserve your tickets already!

Two lines of thought: I'd like to blend a horror/war movie together, similar to Outpost. Or, something sort of off beat film noir like In Bruges. Well, that's not exactly film noir, just dark comedy.D3nnyCrane

Science Fiction. Lots of ideas for that genre.... including heavy emphasis on suspension of disbelief.

Probably Drama or Romance (or a combination of the two :P ).

Zombie flick!!! I would do a Romero type of zombie outbreak though, with every dead person coming back to life, not some "t-virus" or 28 days later crap. I mean if you die, your coming right back as the walking dead, hungry for brraaaaaiiiiiinnnnss. Standard destroying of the head would be the method of zombie killing, and I would be tempted to opt for a no survivors ending, or maybe the exact opposite with a wierd last minute never would of thought of that solution to the infestation.

Or do a movie based on Left4Dead. You could make it a comedy-horror.

A very serious character study that makes you think after it's over. Something along the lines of No Country for Old Men which is one of my favorite movies.

I would like to do a Historical film perhaps, one that was accurate and based on an interesting and involving subject rather than teh sexytime or romance as usually happens. Something like Amazing Grace, maybe, or To Kill A King.

I would want to make a film in the English countryside and I think that'd work quite well.

Well I already am directing a movie soon, but if I could do anything I would do a dark comedy or horror.

Sci Fi/Fantasy. I'm very imaginative when it comes to that.

A black comedy drama.... think Coen Brothers.

Thats awesome, you know you can email Tom Savani and ask for advice on how to do some effects like blood and such. He's a nice guy, he posts his email on his site I think. He sent me a blood recipe that consists or Karo corn syrup, red and yellow food coloring, and if its going on something white add green to make it more of a deep red.

im trying figure out how i can do an effect which involves a machete going through a zombies mouth then coming out of his neck while he is still up and walking.

im almost done with me script and showed it to some freinds, they all like it

You would probably have to make a mold of the zombie's head or something. Try going to tom savani's site and there should be a section where you can email him a question. If not I can try and email him that question for you if you want.
