Sci-Fi, although I think I'd be a better fit as a producer/creative director type guy. I'd have no issues leaving the direction of a project that I spearheaded in the hands of a professional.

Thats awesome, you know you can email Tom Savani and ask for advice on how to do some effects like blood and such. He's a nice guy, he posts his email on his site I think. He sent me a blood recipe that consists or Karo corn syrup, red and yellow food coloring, and if its going on something white add green to make it more of a deep red.

awesome :o
im trying figure out how i can do an effect which involves a machete going through a zombies mouth then coming out of his neck while he is still up and walking.
im almost done with me script and showed it to some freinds, they all like it
You would probably have to make a mold of the zombie's head or something. Try going to tom savani's site and there should be a section where you can email him a question. If not I can try and email him that question for you if you want.
done, hopfully i can get a responce :D
i have no idea how i can get a mold my actors head, this is going to be an EXTREAMLY low budget...at most i might get like 100 or 200 bucks if i can beg my parents lol.
I'd make my own genre, called Sciplosion. Science fiction mixed with lots of nonstop explosions and lots of battles! :D

I am having a similar problem with budgets. I dont know how I am going to get money to make my ideas. In the end you might have to downscale your ideas a bit, I had to do the same.

Good luck to the two of you on your projects. :P I'd love to direct a movie... I just don't have patience enough to form a coherent idea.EDIT: Or budgets, for that matter.
A good psychological/thriller/horror movie.
One that did not rely on breasts and sex scenes to forward the movie. There would be no exposed breasts or sex in my movie.
But, damn it would take you on a ride, and scare the crap out of you.
I have always wanted a horror movie where you never really get a good look at the villian.
And none of that stupid : Get brave all of a sudden, and kill the bad guy. **** That. I want people terrified, screaming, and actually trying to escape an unknown horror.
For those people who want to direct a movie or are already doing so I recommend making a short film rather than a full film first. Use that to get some attention by taking it to any film festival you can find. Many of them accept shorts. It wont bring you instant attention but it might be worth it. Only do what you can afford to do.

when i first started writing my script i planned it to be about maybe 20 or 30 min, but then i came up with so many ideas that i thought "...yeah this might go for atleast 50 or an hour...."
im gonna have to scale back
Zombie horror.
I would do it right.
They would be SUPER fast, really strong, and practically impossible to kill.
I'd make them able to spit zombie goo at people, and I'd make it actually scary.

Its tough to scale back, but i think its important to focus on the main important aspects of the script. The script I am writing now is tough to scale because there is so much potential for great scenes. Film festivals tend to like short films that are around 7 or so minutes. In a way less is more to them I guess.
A good sci-fi movie, that is NOT based off of a book. I think that most of the good sci-fi books are too long to make into good movies.
