Except that many religions are used to cause hate/violence against other people based on their beliefs. Atheism is not a religion and does not cause such things. Christianity says to not condemn and judge. You blame religion for people who practice it poorly. There are atheists and others who HATE religion and it's practitioners to the point of violence. If you blame religion for these things, you must blame atheism for the crimes by atheists against the religious. I'm getting off work now. Arguments over. I was saying that there are some very close minded and condescending atheists. This is fact. Did I say all? No. The atheistic belief system is hypocritical because the claim to not believe in faith when their belief system is totally rooted in faith. The definition of faith is belief in something without proof. They clauim to believe in logic, yet logic would tell us in an infinite galaxy, there would be other life somewhere, yet they have never seen any reason to believe this, so they can't believe in other life. Conflict of so called logic.
What are you blabbering about? Why would you even select out atheism as a general thing to get rid of? It is absolutely pointless. The atheist belief system is merely this: there is no such thing as a higher power. Since when was belief in faith part of the definition of an atheist...? Never... Logic isn't a belief...it is just a way of thinking. They "believe" in other life based on probability...which is logic.
Atheists do not believe in the intangible hence the disbelief in alien . Of course, there are different types of atheists so this doesn't apply to all. You're totally missing the point anyway. My point was that just as atheism cannot be blamed for some angry atheists shooting up churches, religion can't be blamed for murder. Do you follow now?

Agreed... most of the people here that wish to get rid of of religion base most of their opinions on religious people that do nothing but preach and criticize. They should see beyond that and take a look at the more serious problems the world currently faces, such as disease, crime and poverty.
Whatever the leading cause of death is, whether that's heart failure or cancer. Though I suppose cancer, as heart failure isn't necessarily out of illness/disease and cancer is usually a much more torturous experience.
People who think they should get rid of religion, out of the so many bad things they can get rid of they decide to be ignorant and just spread their hate in this thread. Anyways seriously, I would get rid of all the waste around the world as they are polluting many important places of the Earth like the ocean for example.
