[QUOTE="_en1gma_"]Except that many religions are used to cause hate/violence against other people based on their beliefs. Atheism is not a religion and does not cause such things. Christianity says to not condemn and judge. You blame religion for people who practice it poorly. There are atheists and others who HATE religion and it's practitioners to the point of violence. If you blame religion for these things, you must blame atheism for the crimes by atheists against the religious. I'm getting off work now. Arguments over. When did I bring up Christianity? lol, someone is a bit defensive.... The fact still remains that a lot of religions are more likely to cause violence than "atheism". Which makes since because atheists are generally nihilistic about religion.[QUOTE="Trashface"] I agree. Just as religion doesn't cause murder and such. Only confused, violent people. I was making a point. Understand now?

[QUOTE="lonewolf604"]sexual driveBirdy09Wut!? D: WHY. because as amusing as it sounds, there have been times where i have been really horny and felt like grabbing the first girl i saw and her my seed
I was saying that there are some very close minded and condescending atheists. This is fact. Did I say all? No. The atheistic belief system is hypocritical because the claim to not believe in faith when their belief system is totally rooted in faith. The definition of faith is belief in something without proof. They clauim to believe in logic, yet logic would tell us in an infinite galaxy, there would be other life somewhere, yet they have never seen any reason to believe this, so they can't believe in other life. Conflict of so called logic.[QUOTE="Trashface"][QUOTE="_en1gma_"] For one, you can't just generalize "atheism" based on a few people. Secondly, you should prove that it is atheism that has caused closed minded, hypocritical people. How exactly are they being hypocritical? Give an example of this? Most atheists are merely logical people who do not believe in a deity/deities. _en1gma_
What are you blabbering about? Why would you even select out atheism as a general thing to get rid of? It is absolutely pointless. The atheist belief system is merely this: there is no such thing as a higher power. Since when was belief in faith part of the definition of an atheist...? Never... Logic isn't a belief...it is just a way of thinking. They "believe" in other life based on probability...which is logic.
Atheists do not believe in the intangible hence the disbelief in alien . Of course, there are different types of atheists so this doesn't apply to all. You're totally missing the point anyway. My point was that just as atheism cannot be blamed for some angry atheists shooting up churches, religion can't be blamed for murder. Do you follow now?Christianity says to not condemn and judge. Which makes since because atheists are generally nihilistic about religion. You should read back and research the topic you jumped in on. I was making a counter point. The point is, once again, that just as atheism can't be blamed for church shootings, religion can't be blamed for violence caused by faulty practitioners.[QUOTE="Trashface"][QUOTE="_en1gma_"] Except that many religions are used to cause hate/violence against other people based on their beliefs. Atheism is not a religion and does not cause such things.

I'm not completely certain why do some people wish to get rid of religion but whatever
I'd get rid of cancer, nasty disease
That's what I said earlier. People saying they would get rid of religion before, crime, disease, poverty is pretty sick and sad. It's just a sign of how blind and misled some have become.I'm not completely certain why do some people wish to get rid of religion but whatever

Agreed... most of the people here that wish to get rid of of religion base most of their opinions on religious people that do nothing but preach and criticize. They should see beyond that and take a look at the more serious problems the world currently faces, such as disease, crime and poverty.
There would be so many...war, certain diseases, hunger/poverty, racism...all of those and more need to be gotten rid of.
harmful drugs, diseases, poverty, crime or rape. My dad is seeing the doctor to see if he has cancer :(
I'm not going to start a debate, but no one's seem to point out you and a number of other people rather rid the world of religion, because of violent acts commited in the name of, rather than violence altogether. A testament to the unabashed level of ignorance and idiocy that comes with intolerance. I can call it intolerance, because you rather rid the world of it than tolerate its existence. ";)"I wasn't spreading any hate when I said I would get rid of religion;)
