I'd keep a base at home.....and travel. Perhaps find a few places that intrigue me and get a house there as well. But I won't know until I do the travel.

That sounds like the best idea. I wouldn't know where I would want to live until I've been there.
Somewhere that rains often,but at the same time has really beautiful sunny days, not boiling hot though. It's got to be really green, lots of trees and grass. Maybe somewhere with a lot of history. Really, I would have to do some research before deciding.
Honestly? I've always wanted to live in a permanent residence located in some sort of giant airship (blimp, zeppelin, derigible, whatever you wanna call it). It would be really cool having a sort of aerial luxury cruise liner as your home, and the view passing over a city or savannah or plain would be awesome.
