FDR. There's a reason why he was elected four times in a row.gameguy6700Because he was "trying" to do things to fix the Great Depression. People didn't understand economics, therefore didn't realize that doing nothing was actually the best option.

Probably one of our legendary presidents like Millard Filmore, Franklin Pierce, Rutherford B. Hayes, Zach Taylor, William Henry Harrison, or the ever rememberable chester arthur.

There was one man, an expert organizer and a detail-oriented number cruncher, with impeccable credentials, who would do very well in the midst of these budget disputes. fidosim
That man could assess the budget, but this man
could beat it down with a cane.
Just saying.
JFK- If we could pull him into the present and throw him in Office then "maybe" there wouldn't be so much beating around the bush. And I'd throw in FDR too.
Most past presidents would be much too old fashioned for today and have a poor understanding of how things work these days. Bill Clinton is probably the best bet, he's probably the most successful president in the last 30 years.Ace6301
He road off the success of the net boom, and USSR boom
As president he brought shame to the white house, left Somali too early, and pushed one of the biggest bull***** bills of all.

Obama. There is a genuineness to his approach. In addition he thinks before he speaks or acts.Diablo-Bgtfo. JK I'm not really a fan of Obama, tho

Your wish can come true, seeing as he is able to run for the next presidency.

He also executed a mentally retarded person while campaigning in 1992 to show how tough on crime he was, conveniently right when the Gennifer Flowers scandal broke. He twiddled away while the Bosnians were getting massacred, wasting precious time opposing to lift the arms embargo on Bosnia (something he promised to do while campaigning). Then there was the bombing on the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical factory in Sudan that had arguably cost the lives of tens of thousands of people (this bombing was conveniently on the same day as Monica Lewinsky's grand jury testimony). And then there are of course the countless number of sexual misconduct allegations, which include, but are not limited to, rape.I can't say I miss Clinton either.
George Washington. The guy could have been KING, but he turned it down. He did what needed to be done (be President) and stepped aside when the job was done. He didn't do it for the power, or because he wanted the job, but because he was asked to.
Yes, Teddy Roosevelt was a hardcore MF, and Eisenhower was a war hero... but they asked for the job, they sought out the power.
Only one real choice here: Washington for President in 2012.

FDR he could help fix our economy without having to give up the American way. Or Abraham Lincoln because I love that man and what he did so much.
Buchanan, obviously.
I don't think FDR would be very effective today. Seriously. Imagine the opposition the Republicans would put up against him.

Bush was horrible and his grandfather helped the Nazis.
Anyway, Ill go with Ronald Reagan

He definitely was a great President. He was very open minded with his beliefs, was a very smart individual, and believed in religious and individual freedom. I say one of the few mistakes he did though, was doing nothing about slavery once he was in office, even though he was known to be so vocal against it, even during the signing of the Declaration. He could have brought an end to it very early.
BMD004
His solution for slavery was to put all non-white Americans on a boat to the Caribbean as he didn't think multiracial societies could exist. He kept hundreds of slaves himself as well.
In a way, he was kind of right. Multiracial societies have plenty of racial problems. Even the melting-pot that is the USA still has racial problems.[QUOTE="Digital_DJ_00"][QUOTE="Star67"]

On topic... I almost added Lincoln to the ticket, too, but I'm not sure we have any slaves to free (other than slaves to fashion).

I'd say Clinton because he is damn good at what he does and because he's alive as opposed to the many dead guys I could pick. Though it would be easy to dodge blame if you are dead.
