Honestly, I don't know what I'd do with it. If there were a way to find the owner, I would do that. Otherwise I think (or I hope) I would donate it to charity. That money isn't mine, I didn't deserve it. Also, I'm glad to say that my family is well off and doesn't need that kind of money.
I'd find a way to return it to its rightful owner. If it did get lost, I couldn't possibly spend another person's money, especially on a higher scale. It'd take some emergency for me to spend it.

Well I took $1,000 for some spending money and put the rest in the bank. Bravo sir. For being sensible.Yeah I would never have just went out and spent it. Hell, it took me 4 months to kill that $1,000 just from going out to eat and buying new games. Plus gas money.
If I saw someone drop it I would tell them they dropped their money, I don't really need that much money. If however the owner is not directly visible I'm not going out of my way to find him, I consider it mine by then. Leaving it alone is not a good idea, by the time the owner realizes his money is gone somebody else will probably have found it. Better me than someone else.
I found $300 in 20's by an ATM once. I called the bank, and they told me to go to the bank the next morning. I did, and they told me they would try to find out who it belonged to. I waited a couple of weeks, and they never called me back. So, I split it with my girlfriend and put it in my checking account.
500 euro bills actually exist. So do 500gbp notes, they go up to 100000000 gbp Anyway i'ld probably get a reel of cat5 to stop my internet dropping out all the time and maybe some PC upgrades
