yes it could be worse but it could defenetly be BETTERsonofsmeagle
So could everything in the world. There is always room for improvement. I just decide not to complain. I'm kinda content with how things are run here. I pray for less corruption and evil. But the U.S. is ok at best.

no what i mean by better is that a better country could be picked rather than the US

You picked Austrailia mayn. It is just as bad with its censorship. Also to tell the truth truth I don't know any other countries. Sweden/Switzerland would be a good decision. But they are small countries so I doubt they can rule the world well.

Australia. If you look at the Human Development Index, Australia is second only to Norway by 0.001 points. We are ahead of Norway by 0.013 in Health, and 0.067 ahead in Education. Australia has the second highest global education score, only falling behind New Zealand (0.999 compared to 1.000). We have one of the highest life expectencies, and the longest expected time at school (average person born in 2010 is expected to go to school 20.5 years).

The only thing I found disturbing is that New Zealand is actually beating us at something. How is that ... possible??

I'm sorry to say this, but if global governance ever did happen (which it will, eventually), no one country will have control. The ones in control will be a handful of power hungry elites. This has been their plan for over a hundred years. It will start with the financial system, and then domino to other areas such as religion and education. There wont be countries anymore. They will be determined by region, but ultimately where you live won't make the slightest difference because your still under a global government. Citizens will be monitored and judged on everything they do. Nobody will have freedom. Take it as you will, because many past and present leaders as well as other people in power have expressed their desires for a NWO, and this will happen eventually.

i stand corrected. Comapred to any other European Empire, they were angels.

And actually, the British Empire didbring good things to the countries it conquered. India still has police very much Britain, and very similar trade routes, etc... Australia is a prosperous nation, and it never even fought for its independence, as is Egypt.

There is no denying that they did some bad things though.

I would argue that the Dutch, French, and possibly even Spanish were all more benevolent entities to the indigenous inhabitants of their colonies, though I would also accept the argument that a lot of that is due to a lack of success in sustaining their empires. The French, however, never treated the American Indians in the same manner as the British, by burning their crops and raising villages. Since their activities in the Americas were mostly limited to fur trading, they never had the competition for resources that the British did.

Not that I want to pluck out one isolated case, however speaking of the French one could argue the tragic state of Haiti stems directly from the outrageous measures put in place by them when granting them independence...

Aside your very childish Deus Ex reference, what i just wrote is a very serious threat and very probable outcome. Just look at the human history for the past 100 years and you will see the decisions and events that have come and will soon come have all been intricately designed. This will be a very gradual process that could take many decades. This isn't some fantasy world or a videogame. Like i said, many powerful people want a NWO, and they are in position to make that happen.

norway is 36...

the others are close enough i guess.

But Norway is usualy either 1 or 2 when it comes to human development index / nation development index, while the others are lower.

And Danmark being nr. 40 while also being the "happiest nation on earth" should help you put it into context. How much suicide numbers reflect happiness

I see that, that's why I edited. So you're saying suicide ratings does affect happiness? Since the other lower also has higher suicide rate. Anyway there are 106 countries on the list so 40 is still pretty bad, and if they add the rest of the countries Im sure it would be even worse.

I dont see how you could come to the conclusion that more countries = lower on the list.

Since you dont know how high the suicide rates of the other countries are, not to mention the fact that they are probably under developed countries in comparison to the ones already on the list. And your also not questioning why they arent already on the list. Is it because its hard to keep track of the data in some of those countries?

The thing we need to take into consideration are other developed countries, for example USA being nr.38 which is higher then danmark, but lower then norway by 2 ranks.

And as i explained earlier, danmark, which ranks 40th, is also the worlds happiest country according to studies. So there are a bunch of questions to be asked.

I'm assuming you mean if the entire world was united under one type of Government

The 195 States of the United Nations of Earth.

US Government maybe slow and inefficient, but every state gets equal representation. Every "previous" country can be a state with their own government and preserve their culture. Also prevents the entire government from being crippled by the corruption of certain individuals.

Norway. There's a reason they rank number one or two consistently on the Human Development Index.CRS98

Because they have really really high taxes, a large income compared to their population/expenses, a different culture and relatively low population/immigration?

A third of the population of the Island you're on doesn't want to be part of you. How would you rule the entire world?

It has to be somewere like Holland, Swizerland, Denmark etc. Anyone saying America is obviously wearing Stars and Stripe spangled glasses over there head and it's obscuring their vision as it's a horrible idea.

None of them. Suddenly giving administration of an entire planet to a country that controls a fraction of its population would be disastrous for everybody.

If you actually assume that giving that country to the world would alter the entire planet's culture, economic strength per capita and social laws to fit that single nation to a tee, I'd pick Norway.

Yeah because the Crown dependencies and the fourteen overseas territories clearly want out. I find it amusing that Bermuda would rather the UK as a sovereign state than the U.S...

You can bang on about colonialism, but all the major empires were doing pretty horrific things, and the u.S itself condoned slavery to extraordinary levels later on. Nobody is morally absolved here, and the UK does not stand for those colonial ideals any more, in fact, a movement has been identified as reverse-colonialism in Britain considering its immigration rates.

And those oversea territories are pretty much an expense, though quanitifying it exactly is impossible for most citizens, it is a well known fact though between the peoples.

Any concept of world empire would run on a branched system of delegation, so it would be relatively easy to govern if there is a strong political infrastructure.

My vote was Uk anyhow.

And those oversea territories are pretty much an expense, though quanitifying it exactly is impossible for most citizens, it is a well known fact though between the peoples.

i dont want any centeral ruler point to where i said an US imperial power is better than a british one. trying to shift the blame or point the finger at something else does not change my claim nor does it dispute it.

I have disputed it... you implied the UK stands for currently imperial ideals. That is not true, evidently. Just 'throwing it right back at you' was an aside and not the point i was getting at.

A third of the population of the Island you're on doesn't want to be part of you. How would you rule the entire world?

I reunited, happy Ireland completely separate from the United Kingdom.

[QUOTE="MgamerBD"] You picked Austrailia mayn. It is just as bad with its censorship.

Actually censorship is pretty tepid in Australia. Prime time television has been quite adult in the past. The video game issue is honestly an abberation born from an outdated bureaucratic method, it doesn't really represent the politics of Australia or the level of government supression.

See that little Union Jack?

Yeah, Who's your daddy?

The other three quarters of the flag emphasise something else however.
