I would be experiementing with the brain and memory, and trying to create a device that would read your memory and make it so you could plug it into a TV and see it.
I'd make a huge study with millions of people and record all their habits (diet, exercise, hobbies, etc.) and their medical events to a database.
Then I'd use a computer program to figure out correlations between the habits and the events. Afterwards you'd be able to isolate variables and decide what people should and should not be doing to be healthy.
They could figure out so many causes and preventative measures for cancer, heart disease, etc. that way.
I would try to experiment with virtual gaming. Creating a suit and helmet which can show what it can be like in a fantasy world. Once I get the interaction and movement down, I would add the weapon.

Well of course. The thing is though, many people overlook the fact that petroleum has far more important uses then being burned. The two major uses aside from wasteful burning are in the plastics industry and the road industry. Asphalt is a petroleum based product, as are most plastics. We run low on petrol, we run low on plastics, the world economy collapses.

Actually, I was watching the news when some scientists actually regrew this guy's finger and a woman's toe, along with a few other people's limbs. So regeneration is coming along quite soon. ;)
