Nothing as involved as it should be. Personal bias and interpretation can play a lot in moderations. Mods should be trained use discretion. They need to understand when someone is trying to be funny and when there is a serious issue that can cause some actual harm. Most moderations these days seem to be just for stupid bull**** that is meaningless. The only truly bad things that should be moderated are direct flaming, posting of truly offensive content (racist, disturbing, pornographic, etc) and advertising. That's it.

no. I've been a mod on another well known site. It wasn't all it's cracked up to be. The fun of being in the forum is completely taken away for me and you basically have to babysit people. It gets tiring after awhile.
Meh, not really, there are some times when I just don't want to be around GameSpot at all. The constant religious threads and people in general disgust me. I'm not going to point anyone out though or what exactly disgusts me, but let's leave it at that, as a mod I would be absent quite a bit, so it's a no go for me. .
No. Even if I wanted to, there's an abundance of mods as it is. Adding any more would just be pushing it, especially seeing as how the number of users is going down.
I would... Though I wouldn't last more than a month. Maybe longer if I get a lot of help from the other mods Edit: Any mod would like to guess how good I would do?

hell no. i hate mods. who do they think they are anyway? playing God with the forums and locking threads simply because they were posted in the wrong place.
