I would help others in need seriously if I won the Powerall lottery. Right now in Philadelphia I think, there's this Zoe gal whos 19 she lost her parents to Hurricane Sandy and now she's trying to raise her siblings all by herself.

I really would give Zoe and her siblings 6 milion bucks so they dont have to struggle. I would even take them out to eat out at a fance place so they can relax and stuff.

Honestly, probably not. A lot of lottery winners go bankrupt because they get irresponsible by throwing cash around.

i will keep a small portion and then give the rest to the poor and needy, then carry on with my life just as i was before the big win, i will never let money take over me like some weak minded people.

I'd probably buy something somewhat expensive then not touch the rest of the money.

And in my room, there will be a big pile of cash that nobody even looks at.

Like, completely forgotten about.

I would donate maybe a 100,000 to charity but thats all~

the rest i would keep and use it to create a financial legacy for my family, that would keep generations of family members comfortable and cared for~

Yes, but my philanthropic endeavors would be limited to vanity projects. Build schools and hospitals, and name them all after myself. Build a public park with a giant statue of myself in the center. Things like that.

id probly keep like 5 million to myself. then give the rest away to family, friends, charities, etc.

just live off the 5 million. buy a house in my nice little small town and live a simple life. then when i die, whatever money i have left, would go to my younger sister and my niece.

Honestly I would never donate or anything like that.

I would help those around me that I know personally, sure, but none of that charity, needy kids foundation whatever crap, ill people stuff. Some one I know is ill, sure, some one I know is struggling, sure.

I would much rather sit down with that starving African kid and help him directly, than to give money to some organization.

I would help like my local places like a school or park or whatever, cuz I would like to do it directly and see it happen right there in front of me.

BUT there is NOW WAY in HELL I would ever donate to a f*cking church. That sh*t pisses me off, when some old lady wins the lottery and donates it all or 75% of it to some stupid ass church. What a waste...

There's a pecking order when it comes to me helping other people:

1. Family at the topmost tier

2. Relatives

3. Close friends

4. That's it. Anybody else will have to get past the first 3 tiers.

Absolutely. Odds are most of the money won would be donated. I'd obviously use some of it to pay off my college loans and ensure myself some financial stability for the future but the rest I'd donate to organizations like the Red Cross, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, etc.. I would want to establish some sort of endowed scholarship at my alma mater.

Take the million, turn into a lot more, and then help people. I don't want to turn into one of those lotto winners that goes through bankruptcy.

Save enough for me to live off with all my desires fulfilled and then give rest away in various ways, Never understood the purpose of holding onto ridiculous amounts of money just for the sake of wealth. Money is a means to an end, not the end itself.

So the people in this thread advocate a 75% tax rate on the rich, but wouldn't give a dime to others if they won the lottery. My, my...how interesting...This is why Liberalism is a joke.

Yes, I would.

If I won the lottery I would probably go through the cash quickly. I don't care much about saving for a future I might not even have. Stupid? Yes, but I figure I won't be any worse off then I was before I won the money.

I would only help family and one friend. Many in my family don't deserve a penny but I can get on their good side if I do that so it will benefit me in the long run. Then I would build a pyramid and start a video game studio. Invest the rest in bonds and live off the interest.

Yes.

There would be money going to friends and family, and a certain amount for charity. I would then have an amount to spend on stuff I want... Nissan GTR/Audi R8... Then the rest in a high interest account, where I could live off the yearly interest.

Correction: the American definition of liberalism is a joke. No way classical liberals like myself would ever support a 75% tax rofl.

True. For being a foreigner, you seem to be a left-leaning centrist, which is in stark contrast to the hordes of extemely Liberal/anarchist Americans who frequent this board.

No, I wouldn't. I would spend the money myself to make sure the money truly goes to the most basic needs (such as food), or send it to an organism that does that.

You must be confused. He won.
