did you praise Jesus when Obama lost the election?[QUOTE="l4dak47"][QUOTE="moneymatterz"]
So the people in this thread advocate a 75% tax rate on the rich, but wouldn't give a dime to others if they won the lottery. My, my...how interesting...This is why Liberalism is a joke.

You must be confused. He won.
Not according to a few Republicans. Nonetheless, did you praise Jesus?[QUOTE="IdioticIcarus"]
Don't you guys want to do things like help out a random person anonymously, leave a thousand dollars in various Salvation Army santa bins, and leave a $100,000 tip to a waiter/waitress you like?

No, I wouldn't. I would spend the money myself to make sure the money truly goes to the most basic needs (such as food), or send it to an organism that does that.
But that is just no fun.:P
I think I would put a good portion of the money intomicrofinancing small entrepreneursall over the world.
I would help if I saw a human that genuinely needs help.
Very few of us here know how it's like to be hungry..
But that is just no fun.:P

I would still have plenty of money for fun... Besides, feeding and giving water to people in Africa could be very gratifying believe it or not. I haven't already but I very much plan to, regardless of winning the lottery or not (because I don't play the lottery).
Besides my parents, No one else would help me so if I ever won the lottery I would help myself, and my parents.
You answered like you don't give money already. And you talk about others "selfishness" and not realize your own. The correct answer for everyone is, "I already do now, and if I did, I would continue to do so."i will keep a small portion and then give the rest to the poor and needy, then carry on with my life just as i was before the big win, i will never let money take over me like some weak minded people.

Yeah, I think I'd really enjoy being able to randomly donate at least somewhat signiicant amounts to charities at different times. I wouldn't give like half of it away, especially all at once, but I'd probably make several 100k-500k donations to different causes etc that came up throughout the year. What is this powerball winnings you're referring to anyway, 200m range?
Yes but I would focus more on family and close friends first before donating to charity. Yes, I am inherently selfish.
Eh depends how much the lottery winnings were. I would definitely give money to all my friends or atleast buy them each a car or something, and I'd probably give a lot to my family. After that giving, I'd probably do everything I have dreamed of doing, like travel the world, have a 3-way, etc. Then if i still had a bunch left over, I'd probably give to charity.
And i might just give a couple grand to random people who look like they need it at walmart or something lol
now that i think about it further, at first i was gonna just say to hell with my older sister.
but now, id probly send her a good amount. pay of her fines and enough to get a house/apartment then give her a good amount to live comfortable for a while.
then after that, is she squanders it all, thats all on her.
