Whats the most effecient and fastest way to lose body fat? I'm 5'5 and I weigh about 230lbs. I just had some massive reconstruction on my leg so I can't run or jog, I cant really walk longer than a few minutes. I can bike though. My kidneys are failing and my body has always produced dangerious levels of fat. I dont really eat out much, or eat junk in general. I gained far too much body fat in a very short amount of time.

I can't get into super detail, but the docs say about 6-8 months....unless I drop about 100lbs. A few years ago I used to be a fit 130lbs, which seems normal for my height. Shot up to 280 right after my reconstruction, dropped back down to 230. The sudden influx of body fat is killing me, literally. Any suggestions?

Get a biking machine, they are very efficient. Then use it twice a day, for at least 15 minutes per time. Eat 500-750 calories below your maitenance level. Google it. Also, read "burn the fat, feed the muscle".

You may want to consider lapband surgery if your doctor approves it.

First talk to your doctors about what diet and excerise plan are best for you. Also try swimming alot it takes the weight off of your leg you can do weights in water and get cardio taken care of I wouldn't suggest surgery. You can do it the old fashion way ever seen biggest loser?

Consult a real doctor and not the ones on OT. And if that doesn't work get a cheap backwoods transplant or remove your tumor.

[QUOTE="ateace3"]i cant take this seriously. wouldn't the doctor offer you some sort of advice? get surgery, do something. don't ask ot how to lose 100 pounds.AFraud

You would be surprised how little doctors care most of the time. Many are overworked, and spend a grand total of about five minutes with each patient, if that.

Many physicians I've worked with will tell their patients to "lose weight" but never give any explanation of how to accomplish that.

Like my doctor. I go in, and literally, she calls me fat and tells me to do something about it. >_>

Cut your damn calories and eat wholesome foods.

Spend at least 1 hour a day doing something active, even stretching.

Just thought of something else. Being immobilized, do you routinely take heparin, lovenox, or any similar drugs?

The lovenox would be a subcutaneous injection.

I'm trying to account for why a 23 year old would have renal failure.

AFraud

I don't take anymore meds, they were making things much worse.

I lost 105 lbs. in 5 months. Just listen to what I have to say. My doctor approved this plan, and it is healthy.

1. Do not dinner. Only eat a small breakfast and a medium sized lunch.

2. Exericise for two hours, four days a week.

3. Keep your calorie intake below 2,000 calories.

TC If your story was true the doctor would have already refered you to another specialist to help with the weight loss

In addition to everything else, i think Niacin speeds the metabolism so if you take a niacin supplement pill every day it might help. A lot of people use them to speed their metabolism and cheat drug tests , but i think this is a more legitimate reason to use them :P

I would start with salad and make sure you check the amount of calories in the dressing. Also get on that bike.

If you take any types of vitamins or mineral they react with other vitamins, minerals or amino acid in your system. Before taking any new supplements whatsoever you should always consult with yoru doctor. There are certain symtoms dealing with Niacin overdosing he should be aware of before speakign with his doctor and takign the supplement. See here.

By the way, the easiest way to loose weight is just to be careful with your diet. I went from 175-180lbs to 150 (I'm 5'10-11) in a few months without exercising just by being more careful with my diet.chessmaster1989
175 is pretty normal for 5'10 or 5'11 im 6'1,180 lbs and i feel like i need to be over 200 lbs

Assuming you'll be dead in 6 months, paying money for a lap band or liposuction should be your first choice.

Drinks TONS of water, especially before you sleep and when you wake up.

No soda, juice, etc. JUST WATER! You really want to loose weight, and pretty fast too.

This looks like it works seen an infomercial on it recently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyOVeiF3EZcit's a 90 day workout dvd. But it sounds relatively hard. And i would imagine you have to follow the nutrion plan it lines out for you.

  • Start recording daily food dairies of your intake for at least a week or two. Then do a calculation to figure out how much your calorie intake is in a single day.
  • If you find out that it is over 2000-2500 a day, you have to reduce you intake down to that level (if not, you are probably gaining weight). Once you reduce it to a 2000 calorie diet, you have to start planning on how to lose weight.
  • A single pound of fat is 3500 calories, and in order to lose it, your body has to burn it, either through exercise or through starvation (exercise is the healthy alternative, but in extreme cases, some starvation is necessary).
  • If you are eating 2000 calories a day, cut out 250-500 calories of what you eat and then do another 250-500 calories of exercise every single day.
  • If you do this right, you should start losing 1-2 pounds a week. I personally don't see any healthier way to lose weight. Even if you need to lose 100 pounds in 6 months. After 6, that is 48 pounds, half of your goal. If you want to step it up more, do 500-1000 calories of exercise a day.
