So all the illegal immigrants have registered social security numbers and are now taxpayers?

Roushrsh

Yea seriously, I live in Canada and even I see this is a horrible idea. As if the US needs more people to work in a mcdonalds at lower than minimum pay who can barely speak a word of english, can't feed their family's which could lead them to commiting crimes to help their family rather than help the country (I doubt the border hoppers have any decent education anyways, if they did they wouldn't be border hopping). Let alone all the cultural discrepancies it would be bring. Think of how there are parts of the US where there are only red neck racist white people, or where there are only gangs of black people. Does anyone really want to start adding a mexican group into that mix? I have nothing against mexicans, but NO country should just remove border control. We have laws for a reason.

There are some very educated Mexicans that become illegal immigrants by choice because a crappy job here is still better than their situation in Mexico. I know a guy from Mexico who was a lawyer, but extreme corruption in their justice system pissed him off so much he decided to become a "border hopper" Through hard work he's now an assistant grocery manager (not sure how he managed to dodge the law by getting this job, but more power to him) at a very well known grocery chain making $50,000 a year. Not much, but yeah...making more than what he was as a lawyer in Mexico. LOL.

Say what you want about illegal Mexicans, but they are hard workers. Harder than most Americans. Just look at the agricultural situation in Georgia. They drop the new immigration law to scare away the mexicans and it worked, now theres nobody there to do the work. Governor Deal tried to use parolees to make up for the labor shortage and they couldn't finish one truck at one farm compared to the Mexicans, who usually finish 4-5 trucks in the same amount of time.

I'm down with the illegals and hope they can come out of the shadows one day and be respected like all of the other Americans who "earned" there way to becoming a citizen by plopping out of there mommys pouch inside the border.

So by your logic, the law should be meaningless.

Funny how people like to pick and choose which laws should be enforced. I'm sure you'd be singing a very different tune about the law if somebody did something bad to you.

The law should be redone. I understand that until that happens it has to be enforced. I also understand that I'll be supporting realistic immigration reform in the future if we get some leaders with sense in Washington.

I agree that the law should be redone and immigration should be stream-lined. I am, however, of the mind that people should own up to their crimes. There has to be some sort of punishment for breaking the law in the first place. Otherwise what the f*** is the point in having ANY law?

I'm not talking about jail-time, or anything crazy like that, but fines or wage garnishments and automatically to the back of the line of the immigration process. I don't think that's unreasonable at all.

There is everything wrong with that scenario. If illegal immigrants who come here become legal just in a matter of seconds, then people from all over the world are going to FLOCK IN MASSES over here. God knows what kind of people. That is a major threat to national security. Just to make things better, our part time politicians will give these immigrants TONS of benefits, inevitably killing america.

So what you're saying is, because there is the rare lawyer or two, we should let in EVERYONE? You can see how wrong that logic is already, you can't discern between who MAY be beneficial and who is harmful if you let everyone come in. I never denied that they're hard workers, so are afghans, arabs, chinese, etc, etc, we should just let them all come in with no problem too right? You know how much higher the risk of terrorism would be if we just removed our border? If we open the border we might aswell call everyone an american -.-......
