What college do you want to go to? Most selective colleges require at least three years of one language and they usually like to see that you took a language every year of high school... not different languages but higher levels of the same language. If you hate Spanish I suggest you pick a new language for ninth grade and stick with it. Honestly though, Spanish is the easiest foreign language that most schools offer (unless you already know one of the other foreign languages) because there are generally a crap load of Spanish kids in most schools that you can have help you with your homework.Â
in Canada you have to be biligual in order to get a decent job. English and French is huge here. So consider yourself lucky its an option for you guys.
up here its almost a must.Â

Meh. That depends on the nature of the work and where you live in Canada. I am certainly not fluently bilingual and get by just fine.

You have to take two years of it in high school and two years in college (or just four years in high school).
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Petition the government. This is America. We speak English.CptJSparrow
Yes, heaven forbid Americans expand their minds and develop an understanding of foreign language and culture. Even if you never use the language in your life, learning it is an excellent intellectual exercise.

If you want a government job... 9 times out of 10 you need biligualism.
If you want to work in most professional fields in Ontario, quebec, New brunswick or NFLD, then bilingualism is a must.Â
[QUOTE="Kolomo"]Moi j'ai été chanceux, ma famille est complètement bilingue :) En plus, le français c'est mieux que l'espagnol.
