I'm not a believer but I think I need a religion these days

I don't believe in God as a separate entity(like teached in most religions), but I do believe in a God that is everywhere and that we are a part of it. God is in my hearth.

I would like to join a religion, but don't know which one. Christianity doesn't seem very appealing to me.

Any suggestions ?

Do what your heart tells you. Mines telling me to brace myself for another boring weekend.

You don't need to "join" a religion. Just do what you think is right and pray for yourself. If there is a God, He will understand your troubles and accept you.

Then you can't be a Christian. The whole religion is centered on the belief that Jesus was (The son of) God.

A good man who claimed to be God's son but was pretending. How does this make sense? His life was a lie from that point of view. I think CS Lewis said it best. Jesus was either a liar a lunatic or a savior. I believe savior.

Jesus arrogantly admitted to being the son of God.

The only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. (Seriously, not all christians believe this.)

Christians are very closed minded and incredibly judgmental.

Every Christian is trying to convert you all the time! :o

Christians are not allowed to believe evolution.

Just to name a few. ^^

Let me pitch you some questions:

1. Is Humility important to you?

2. Do you believe nobody is perfect but everyone has the capacity to do great things?

3. Do you believe Good and Evil are two real, non-subjective things that exist in everyone?

I meant the fact that he though he was a good man but still acknowledged that he lied to everyone about who he was. Thats crazy.

the god you believe in was known as Jesus Christ. He is both a separate entity and everything around us and through us. dont let other Christians turn you off the true god, for many have come in his name but few will eat from the tree of life. the disciple Paul went through many conversions in his life of being a christian, because he realized that his Christianity was a work in progress.

I dont think God is the bloodthirsty ******* you seem to think he is also i dont think that people who never got the chance to be Christians in their life should have to go to hell

The problem with human thinking is that most of us believe that god would think, reason, and feel as we do. But this is not true. God is nothing like us. The original poster knows this but you respond to him like he's a modern day monotheist and that god is sitting around to listen to our problems and comfort our own psychologies.

you dont HAVE to join a religion, simply take the ideas you agree with from different religions and phillosophy, and make your own personal beliefe system. you can be spirtitual withought a religionlegend26

Oh I'm fine with Paul, I just do not like how one can't obtain an accurate understanding of what Christianity truly is by watching many people who claim to be Christian. Jesus himself criticized the religious people for their actions more than the common person. Many people who give themselves the Christian label are no different, they go through the religious routine and never understand what Christ truly taught.

btw, Paul did not write the book of John... John the Apostle did.
