Its not racist to be proud of your heritage, Im proud to be white, I dont hate people of other ethnicities but i think that maybe we should be allowing more pride for being white, a lot of the time people, and especially companies go to the extreme of being racist towards white people by hiring people of other ethinicities even if they are less qualified just so that they can appear to give "equal opportunities".

Being proud implies some sort of achievement on your part yet you did no achieve "white", its just random chance. You can be happy to be white, but racial pride is as pointless and stupid as national pride for the same reasons.

Why? What have you to be proud of? Is their such a thing as "white culture". There is most definitely a black American culture because of the history of slavery, segregation and institutionalised racism. Black Americans were forced to share a common experience and struggle because of the colour of their skin, thus they developed a common cultural identity, based on the colour of their skin. Black pride and black power were a reaction to the regular degredation and dehumanisation inflicted upon Black Americans. White Americans however have never been forced to form a cultural identity based on skin colour, seeing as they weren't negatively discriminated against or abused because of it, therefore ethnic identites were formed, ie Irish American, Italian American etc. etc.

So therefore I don't see why a white person would feel the need to be proud of their skin colour. There is no common "white" historical American experience, yet there is one for black Americans.

I'm saying there's no conceviable reason for white Americans to have pride in the colour of their skin, that would be white supremacy. But black American pride is a celebration of black culture in America and that is based on race not because of black supremacy but because of the historic racist practices of mainstream America: racial segregation, slavery , which excluded black Americans from mianstream society because of the colour of their skin, and so they were forced to form their own culture.

Black power and White power are both racist. It implies that you think your race is superior. White pride or Black pride is not racist; it implies that you're proud to be whatever race you are.

so if a white guy is proud of being white, then he is a white supremacist? but if a black guy is proud of being black, then he is not a black supremacist? irish are known for their freckles and were treated badly during their immigration to america during the potatoe famine. are they allowed to take pride in their heritage without being supremacists? what im saying is that its silly to have qualifications for who can take pride in what, despite how small.

It is kind of racist, IMO.
