I'm having a tough time understanding what the hell you are saying. Is your dad forcing you to join the military? If so, tell him to f*** off and mind his own life. As for the combat thing, what exactly are you worried about? You are joining the military for christ sake. What career path did you sign up for (I'm assuming the U.S. military lets you choose)? If you choose a combat role, then you should have know that actual combat may have been a possibility.

Tell them you have no intention to join, your dad's just being a jerk.

Don't worry. Being in the army is not as dangerous as you might think though it is extremely boring.

Something to note: if you're going to die, then die bravely.  But joining the army should be your choice, not your father's.

Your parents can't enlist you into the arm forces. Are you sure you're not talking about military school, or the Boy Scots?
