Download guitar pro 5

Get tabs from ultimate-guitar

Solo out the 6 string part for the songs you download, then enjoy

Go on some online site for lessons... Or get an actual tutor.

Don't play songs that are way ahead of you, start with the basics. I recommend chords like G-C-Em, etc. The first song I learned was Greenday's, "Give Me Novacaine."

Also, look on youtube for lessons on how to play songs, I learned how to play the solo for November Rain through that.

I'm not quite sure what Guitar Pro is either, I tried the demo and couldn't figure it out.

Best tip is to stick to it if you really want to play, it's going to take a lot of time and effort and WILL be frustrating, but it's really rewarding and I'm glad I play.

Best of luck to you.

Go to a private teacher for one lesson so they can teach you the proper form and everything. Trust me I did this and that alone helps. A lot of people don't even know how to properly use the guitar that they're so confident they know how to play. After that learn how to read tabs. Look on the internet for tabs for songs from some of your favorite artists, make sure to start with their simpler songs though even if they're not your favorite. Try not to get too discouraged. There will be moments where it seems like you're making no progress, but that makes it so when you experience even the slightest bit of improvement you'll feel a lot of satisfaction. Set goals for yourself and have fun with it.

Its seriously hard to teach yourself how to play guitar. You should try taking lessons if you really want to learn.

If you try to teach yourself, you will probably give up in a few weeks and never learn anything.

Blues scale is a good way to get your speed up as well as finger control. First song I learnt was Crazy Train. The first little bit is pretty easy and pretty much everyone knows the song so it's easy to get feedback on.

you have to use the fingers and move the strings, then you have to try to move them in a musical way, then your on your way to guitar freedom

Sorry to post again, but this is how imporant guitar pro has been to me. My friend wanted to play guitar with me, I only play bass (I play good if you are wondering)

I started out looking for guitar pro because it basically shows you the rhythems and the notes to playing the song (and the tabs, which are the frets on the guitar)

So after about 2-3 months of playing together, my friend and I have advanced far past what we thought we could. Every band that has their hard song, we can tackle with 2 weeks of practice. Easy songs just take about 30 minutes to learn. Guitar pro just plays the music that people write for it. You download songs off of ultimate-guitar.com You usually get drums, electric guitar, keyboards, and bass

After you load your song on guitar pro (just click the downloaded file), you go to the bottom of the program where instruments are listed. Just click the instrument that you want to play, it will show the notes to play it (in tab and notation). Also, you can solo out the instrument by clicking the S button next to the selected instrument. After that, you click the play icon at the top, and it will play the song as a person would. You learn from someone playing it for you, which means in a couple months, you will have the skills to play more advanced songs.
