Am I correct in assuming your musical background consists of mainstream crap and this one song alone?
Because, really, it's a horrible song...
If you want an "emotional" rap song go listen to Toy Soldiers by Eminem (I will admit it's one of the few rap songs I know, but it craps over the song you posted big time imo).
No. So emotional Whitney Houston?[QUOTE="xaos"][QUOTE="DroidPhysX"]
So emotional.

Have you ever heard of a band called Radiohead? Obviously not.

What does Radiohead have to do with anything?
because their songs are more emotional and real
People act like mainstream rap is bad,smh corny people Bucked20
Mainstream rap is bad. See? Not just acting, saying. :)
I'm not really into any rap but I have heard some underground songs that friends showed me. I thought it was alright, not really my cup of tea though.

I don't think acting like mainstream rap is bad makes anyone corny, but the blanket "mainstream rap is always bad" statements are pretty silly.
There is both good and bad "mainstream" stuff in any genre.

To you, maybe.
Of course I think Radiohead is better than this because the song doesn't flow well, and perhaps Radiohead has a more emotional delivery due to Yorke's vocals, but I see no reason why it's automatically more "real" as far as content is concerned.

:lol:This is kind of the reaction I had, but I didn't want to be rude.
Radiohead is a very good band IMO, but I hardly see how they are "real". "Real" is actually the last word I'd use to describe them.
Cause they be Lil.
Any reason why many rappers name themselves "Lil X" i.e. Lil Jon? Just curious...Lethalhazard

This is why I say some. Some rap songs on the radio are decent, but many of them are out right garbage. Its like artist have nothing more to rap about other than their status (How much money they got, what type of girls they got hanging around them, what they gonna do to people whom they have beef with, etc.). I only care more about the beat of most of today's mainstream rap song than the actual lyrics......Are you kidding me this is the most emotional song ever, it stirs emotions in you that you never believed you could feel from a song, The Most Emotional Song Ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ5TajZYW6Y

I'm pretty sure this has that song beat in terms of an "Emotional Song". Also the version with his daughter is still sad when you think about how much time has passed with family and how much has changed, friends/family who have passed away.
Can't get the hyperlink to work, keeps giving me errors. Any trick to this?
