What do you think is the greatest movie EVER? In my opinion...

SEVEN SAMURAI by AKIRA KUROSAWA is literally the best film ever made. There's no scene, no line, no sequence in the entire movie, that doesnt contribute to the plot or tothe amazing character detail. Along with great acting and action, I will NEVER tire of this film!!

What in your opinion is the best movie ever made? Provide reasons and links. Or not. Doesnt matter.

I love Seven Samurai but I don't even think it's Kurosawa's best.

The greatest movie ever made is Citizen Kane. That's pretty much the default answer. But my favorite movie is Fight Club.

While Meet the Spartans was cinematic brilliance on par with the likes of Kubrik, I think the directors peaked at Date Movie and they've never been able to reach that same level again. Still they are some of the most skilled and thoughtful directors in the past 100 years.

There may have been a remake. Actually, that movie was initially a teleplay, which was then adapted to a stage play, and then back into a movie.

Well, it would have to be The Longest Day. Everything just came together perfectly, and it also had one of the greatest casts to ever assemble for a single movie.
Superbad, the movie was just pure genius and extremely hilarious IMO8-Bitterness
I'm one of the few who hated Superbad. It was "awkward comedy," a type of comedy I'm not fond of.

Indeed. The subtle nuances and simple-yet-elegant cinematography contained within these films is something unique and unseens since The Wild Women of Wongo.

Whenever I am asked to describe my favorite scene in any film, I always show them this. My brain is hemorrhaging from its brilliance.

I believe there was a TV show that came out in the late 90's. Directed by the same guy who made The French Connection.

Which one do you think is his best? I would probably rate them as so.

1. Seven Samurai

2. High and Low

3. Throne of Blood

4. Red Beard

5. Rashomon.
