****SPOILERS BELOW**** v v v v v v v v v I don't get all of it yet, but will be seeing it again after hearing some thoughts. I understand how almost everything, like when he and his wife are in limbo and how he took her into a deeper dream, implanting an idea that messed her up back in limbo, and eventually, back in "reallity". Also, when Fischer goes under cardiac arrest (he was still alive) they end up having to go into a new dream, a deeper dream, in which fischer is okay. Leo's wife in that dream stabs him, and he also figures that Saido (forgot his name) is dead, thus in Limbo. Leo is also dying, so Ellen Pages character knows that he will meet him and Limbo and retrieve him. Saido, since he died first, is extremely old, explaining why Leo is still young. I dont understand how they get out of limbo. The ending blew my mind, because earlier in the movie, Leo explains that if his totem keeps spinning, he is dreaming, if it drops, its reality... The movie ends in mid spin, thus blowing every portions of my mind. Also, his children seem to be wearing the same clothes as in his dreams, as well as doing the same things, thus making me believe that all of this was a dream.. ***End Spoiler*** Consider my mind f*****DrakeNOwns
***SPOILERS***
My friend that I saw it with couldn't tell whether or not it was really a dream at the end because he thought it looked like the totem was about to drop before the screen went black. Ultimately I think it's going to be left up to the viewer's interperetation and I love when movies do that. I'm not sure how Cobb and Saito woke up from limbo. Maybe the kick woke them up but it just took longer because they were a couple layers deeper than anyone else? I dunno. Also, the scene where Ariadne was learning how to become an architect and manipulate the environment completely blew me away.
***SPOILERS***
I have seen it and have officially declared it as my favorite movie of all-time.

Is it really that good? You and me tend to have eerily similar tastes in a lot of threads so if it's really your all time favorite, that just makes me even more excited to see it. Dicaprio has been one of my favorite actors since The Departed and Blood Diamond.

DiCaprio plays a phenomenal role along with everyone else. Movie is just cinematic perfection.96% is the highest score i have ever seen in IMDB...
I am a lucid dreamer and exploring that terrain as a model of my take on reality.
I want to change the world through dreams. So maybe this movie will interest me.
Going to go to the premiere on 21st july because of Your positive response.
It better be good :P
I actually watched the trailer for the first time today, and I have no idea what the hell this movie is about. The trailer was just...bizarre. I hate movies that can't at least give a general impression via the trailer; in other words I hate any movie where someone says, "You just have to see the movie to get it."jalexbrown
It's even worse when there is a trailer that gives away to much. There are trailers out there that give away the movie's ending.
If you need some backround it's then I'll give you some. It's about thieves stealing though peoples dreams. They break into peoples dreams and force them to tell them secerts they wouldn't tell in reality. But the now they're asked to do something that seems impossible. To go a step deeper in a man's dream. The procedure is called inception.
I won't say it was the best movie ever like some others but it really did blow me away. This could easily become one of my new favorites.
Did anyone else think the ending was perfect?

Yes and I"m pretty eveyone else in the theater loved it too.

And who saw the trailer for The Social Network or whatever? I think that looks good.As a guy who seldomly uses Facebook, I find a movie about it to be just plain ridculous.
Dammit, I shouln't have come in here. I was trying to keep my expectations to a minimum as The Dark Knight ended up being a letdown when I finally saw it due to the sheer ridiculousity of the praise it received. Daresay I'm even more excited to see Inception than I was that now. Crap.
It's lame how all the negative reviews in RT are by people who said they didn't 'understand' the movie.

Yeah I don't like it either. Inception has an 84% while the Dark Knight still has a 93%. I think it will only go down for Inception and I feel that's undeserving cause I thought it was a better film than TDK. I'm mean I read MTV's rotten review and I shock my head.
"Are they handing out joints at the box office for "Inception"? That would make the movie considerably more fun."
Yeah bro, you're so cool.:|

As a guy who seldomly uses Facebook, I find a movie about it to be just plain ridculous.
It's a film based on a book about how it was founded (which has a lot of controversy about it), not based on the site itself. Basically it'll be a drama (comedy drama by some sources). Also, I agree, Inception was excellent. Best film I've seen in theaters this year by far.Honestly, it was pure **** brilliance. Absolutely phenomenal, and possibly the best movie I have EVER seen.
I loved that movie probly in my top 5 of all time. Easily best movie of the year if not the past 5.
Finally, a thinking action movie, with characters you care about, pulled off to perfection here's to you Nolan!
It is my favorite movie of all time after only one viewing.
Honestly, to those who say it's just good, I honestly think you may be WAY too elitist to say that this masterpiece is just "good".
It was great. Not quite the best movie I've ever seen, but still awesome. My favorite scenes were in the hotel. :PTheokhoth
Yeah, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's "layer" was my favorite part too. His character was probably my favorite in the movie, which is saying a lot since it's stacked with good actors.

The hotel scene
While they're all in the van
was arguably the greatest visual scene I've ever seen. EVER.
Or maybe we just have a different opinion:P
On most occassion I would agree, but I don't understand how someone could just think this was a good movie. What was wrong with the movie? Everything in the movie is amazing from what I remember, and everyone I've talked to that I know has said the same.
Everything in the movie is amazing from what I remember, and everyone I've talked to that I know has said the same. Not everyone has to love it. I thought it was a very good film, but I would give it an 8 rather than a 10. I thought that most of the characters other than Dicaprio were uninteresting or undeveloped, and other than a few cool visuals like the van scene you mentioned I thought the dream setting was a bit bland. Felt more like a series of hollywood sets. Still though I thought it was a very good film despite that, just not one of my favorites of the year. I also think Memento is still Nolan's best film. Just because you love a film dont assume we all have to. That is a bit ridiculous.

I daresay that is fact.I respect Film-Guy's opinion regardless of how good the movie is. :P And even if you think it was just good, you can't deny that, in terms of pacing, suspense, and action, this film is a masterpiece. If you have gripes with the story, then more power to you.

On most occassion I would agree, but I don't understand how someone could just think this was a good movie. I can agree with that. The pacing, suspense, and action were great.
Eh, I'm not saying you should love a film, but I think it should be respected as a masterpiece. See, movies like Star Wars, The Dark Knight, LOTR, etc, all have their flaws that we could spend days analysing, but honestly, they are still fantastic movies that were extremely well-made. Basically, I don't care if you dislike it, I just want it to be highly respected, if that makes sense...Not everyone has to love it. I understand what you mean yeah. I don't dislike the film though, an 8 out of 10 is a good rating.
