That's not really true. Also, here's a link of people who have married within the family. People have been doing it for centuries so this phenomenon of marrying within the family isn't new and they're not going to have babies with horns and one eye.

Honestly TC, I wouldn't do it. Yes some of my cousins are cute but they're my family and I don't see them in that light. I do agree, however, that it's not that big of a deal. If two cousins love each other and want to get married, why not? Why bar cousins from marrying when we're considering legalizing gay marriage? Afterall, it's two consenting adults.

I had a huge crush on my cousin when I was 15, and I can't say even today if she made a move on me (she's given me hints) I wouldn't go for it. The whole genetic reasoning is relatively (LOL) recent, but in most societies it's seen as a no-no, through various reasons. it's largely a "victimless crime" anyways. like smoking weed, the various circumstances surrounding the act and not the act itself is condemned. for instance: porking your step-sister can still be considered incest, even though neither party are blood-related.

more food for thought:

would engaging in sexual intercourse with your clone be considered incest? or is it more akin to masturbation?

edit: Keep in mind that the whole taboo thing is something that was exempt for the nobles and royalties of European countries. so it's only a no-no for the proletariat.

I agree, I don't think Incest should be such a big deal. I mean, Leonardo Di Caprio was pretty good in it, as was Ellen Page, but the ending was weak and the plot too convoluted to be really enjoyable.

If you had a long lost sister/brother and didn't know you were related and you were to kiss her you would feel disgusted by it because your body would tell you that the genes are too similar. It is disgusting for obvious reasons, especially since you will have fvcked up kids in the process.

People that practice incest should get live in prision, or just kill them. I am not a fan of the death penalty but sick fvcks like that don't deserve to live in my book. Bullet to the head of all them that practice it.
