Absolute and utter crap. Tarantion really crashed and burned with this one, which is a shame coming so close after the masterpiece that is 'Deathproof'.

What? Deathproof is awful one of QT worst films alongside kill bill 2. I thought this film was great most likely his best film to date everything was great alot of the suttle moments were some of the best in the film.Absolute and utter crap. My favorite scene was when the Nazi sergeant was executed by the Bear Jew. The music, the atmosphere, the soldiers clapping, everything made that scene perfect. I love the part where the Bear Jew points at the Nazi badge and asks him, "Did you get that for killing Jews?" and the sergeant replies, "Bravery." Pure gold right there.
The bar scene was pretty crazy as well. EVERYBODY ****ing DIED! I had to watch that **** again. LOL
I loved it. It was funny, dramatic, classic QT. The guy that played the German Inspector has to be a shoo-in for a best supporting actor nom.btaylor2404Yea, if he doesn't get some kind of award, then that's a shame. I watched it again last night since I just got the blu-ray and I have to say it is a bit on the slow side. Still, I enjoyed it, and sometimes, I just sat there saying "What the hell just happened?"
My brother gave me the movie for Christmas, and it was freaking awesome!!!! Just an all around epic movie, destined to be a classic!

From the movies I've seen this year (the main two I still need to see are Up In The Air and The Hurt Locker), I'd definitely give Tarantino Best Director. Aside from being a great movie overall, Inglorious Basterds has some of the most intensely suspensful scenes I have seen...

Definately. Especially the scene where they're all in the bar and everyone's pointing their guns at each other's balls, it was really one of those "edge of your seat" moments.[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"][QUOTE="enterawesome"]This is true. But even so, I saw it and loved it. :P Tarantino is way up there in my list of favorite directors, just behind Peter Jackson and James Cameron.enterawesome

I loved that scene.
I know, it was pure excellence. Everything from the dialogue, the cinematography, the whole atmosphere of the scene was just outstanding. Another great scene was the Nazi investigation at the beginning where the Jew Hunter (is that his nickname?) goes in the house, acting like he enjoys the guy's milk so much while the Jewish family is whimpering under the floorboards, and then him and the Nazi soldiers start shooting the ground everywhere when the Nazi gets the farmer dude to talk.[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"]

His performance was unreal.

Yes, I agree. Where originally I thought Brad Pitt would be the star of the show, this Nazi commander shows up and delivers some of the finest acting I've seen in a long time. He definately deserves the award.Definately. It's nice, but there are better. Care to elaborate on that? The last one, with Pitt announcing his masterpiece. Very well-made and a great end to the movie. The opening scene is also another one, not to mention the one when the Russian soldier gets owned by that dude with the baseball bat.The movie is nothing like its trailer at all.Looked pretty stupid from the trailer. Does it actually have a plot, or is it just a way to find new ways to kill people on the television screen?

I love Tarantino movies, but I found it extremely dull. I couldn't stand how long some of the dialogue scenes were, and I guess they just weren't as memorable when compared to Resovior dogs or Pulp Fiction. HoolaHoopManThis.. I love movies filled with dialogue and philosophical insights.. But the one scene where they are at the bar was one of the wierdest and most out of place things I have seen in a movie all time.. 2/3rds of the entire dialogue there had nothing to do with the story, no real insights on the war, or other such thing... Which I am really surprised at because I usually like these kind of films that I would consider niche that are often misunderstood imo.
I really enjoyed it, but to be honest don't think it'd be half the movie it was without Waltz as the Jew Hunter. He pretty much made the movie, and every scene he was is shined. The pacing was slow at times, but to see him was always worth the wait. Myers was fairly enjoyable too.

I disagree. The scenes with extensive dialogue were some of the best and most intense parts of the movie, in my humble opinion. Waltz played one of the most intimidating Nazis I've seen in any film. Sure, maybe there aren't as many memorable one liners like in Pulp Fiction, but damn, the conversations between Waltz's character and others were very thoughtful and created a tremendous amount of tension.
