So I'm getting an iPod touch, and I just wanted to know if anybody knew something I should know before I go out and buy one? Any complaints or reasons not to get it?

My friend has one and it looks pretty awesome. I say go for it unless you have more than 8 or 16 gigs of music.

I got one and I really like it. It's the perfect toilet companion for those long ordeals in the can.

Do you know if they work with the new nano/classics? I'm just interested wether my car adapter (harman kardon drive+play) will work with a new ipod, and I can't find info anywhere.

How does the device connect to the iPod? Because I have a Monster FM adapter that I bought for my old 30GBVideo and it works with my Touch. The connector portion on the Touch is the same one that is on all iPods, so your USB adapter and other accessories that use the same port should still work.

yeah im getting one for christmas too and have been looking around for any complaints. it all seems good, i did think there would be a fair few complaints about the screen breaking or scratching easily etc etc but so far i havent really found anything to suggest the screen would break scratch easily if you take care of it. It seems apple have done a pretty good job on the touch :)

just make sure that the 8 or 16 gb will be enough for you... it'll do just fine for me and i love the interface of it so ill get one. I guess another thing to mention is it may or may not be worth geting one if you dont have a wifi connection at home. Cause safari (the internet) is a pretty big selling point and a really good feature of the touch.

Other than the fact the Classic is cheaper and holds like 20 times the number of songs?

It connects to the dock too, but the difference is it doesn't just take the audio out from the ipod dock, it also has external controls for the ipod (http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/driveplay.ars). I'm wondering if the controls interface as well.
