lol yea. These attacks were carried out by the Real IRA, which split from the Provisional IRA because they did not accept the peace process. There is also the Continuity IRA which formed from an earlier split. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IRAs

There's the "Official IRA" (who split of from the IRA and apparently wanted more peaceful ways of sorting things out, and have now given up arms), the "Provisional IRA" (responsible for most of the terrorist attacks in UK and Ireland throughout the past decades, also now have given up arms), the "Real IRA" (apparently behind this morning's attacks, responsible for the omagh bombings and have made no declaration of giving up arms) and the "Continuity IRA" (I don't know much about them, other than that they too have made no declaration of giving up arms).

Not really its expected to have violence like that.. Alot of people still see UK's control of North Ireland as imperialist control of the old British Empire.. It will probably always have problems intill the British leave there.

Well, i'm not saying the killings are justifiable, but after the terrible things the British have done to the Irish over the past centuries, I don't think the Irish, or IRA for that matter, are going to just forget everything that's happened. In a way it's similar to how blacks still have anger towards whites due to past acts of slavery.

But slavery ended over 120 years ago. You have to let it go after a while.

Both sides have commited many atrocities, the "vote" was heavily influenced by the influx of British and Scottish sent to Northern Ireland since the beginning of the occupation.

If you want to get technical, the British started it, so they shouldn't complain about acts of rebellion.

So are you saying most people of Irish decent want to be free from the UK and the only reason the vote passed was because the UK manipulated it?

It'd pretty much be like asking the Native Americans if they wanted their land back, and polling all of the people in the United States (non-Native American's included). I'm American and I can't speak for the Irish, but I'd think they'd want it back.

Yeah thats not gonna happen and the native people understand that. I am an American to and white and black, but the white side of me is mostly Irish but I always say all Irish.
