Nazanin, 17, was sentenced to death by hanging for defending herself against three rapists.
A young girl who defended herself and her chastity against three male assailants who intended to kidnap and rape her causing injury to one of them who later died in hospital was condemned to death by hanging in an Islamic court in Iran. Nazanin who has seen no more than 17 Springs, all of which under the tyrannical rule of the Mullahs is now facing execution for trying to defend herself and her honor.

First of all, there is not one country in this world that has sharia law (ie: Islamic law). So for you to attack Islam because of a country having a kink in their judicial system is completely moronic. I agree, this isn't a religious matter... Iranians are just insane.I was just in Iran two weeks ago. They are awesome people and give a very level-headed impression (ie not insane). The young people born in the 1980s (half of the population) know better than Western kids what war means since they grew up with it. In all matters of international politics they are far better informed than Western kids because they get both sides of the story (cable tv). They have also "lived" these conflicts more tangibly and for longer than Western kids.
Meanwhile, the Iranian government isn't insane either, it actually acts in a predictable, rational manner (under a religious premise of course). In this situation it's acting exactly the way you would expect of an assertive and self-conscious dictatorship. It is well aware that the US can't isolate the population from the elite with the means it has available (economic and military - sanctions and missiles). This ensures that while most Iranians don't support their government, they will side against any outsider that resorts to these means.

Islam is actually a good religion, it teaches peace much more than any religion, but people skew things to work for their favor.Just look at the 32(i think) versions of the bible there are. Christians skewed the bible during the crusades when we murdered muslims in the name of god.
