Legally, yes.ghoklebutterBut maturity it depends on the person, some people never reach adult status... *Points to quadraleap and runs!* :o
Congratulations, you're a legal adult. You can sign contracts and die for your country, among other things. Can't drink or smoke (in NJ), though, irony of ironies.
Legally, yes, in the United States. Meaning: You can sign your own contracts, purchase cigarettes (in my state, anyway), join the Army, give consent to sex and marriage, emancipate yourself from your parents, and face adult ramifications in the case you commit a crime.:D
Mentally and emotionally, however, will be a long time coming. :P
Legally, yes, you are an adult. However, you're probably not so much when maturity comes into the picture. (I'm not meaning to offend you.) The frontal lobe of the brain isn't fully developed until the early to mid-twenties. The frontal lobe of the brain controls important things like making decisions. I'm far from being completely mature.:( I'm 17, by the way.:P
Well, the legal drinking age in the U.S. is 21...I don't know if individual states can pass their own drinking laws...correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I think minors can go to prison, too. I'm pretty sure if a 16 or 17 year-old committed murder, they would go to prison.lolnar. you can drink and go to clubs and sign contracts and go to war and go to prison.

You should know I never leave exactly when I say I do... *Waits for you to put beer down so he can run past and take it* I have my beer helmet on tonight...heheh.
[QUOTE="t3hrubikscube"]By law, yeah. Everyone 'feels' like an adult at a different age, though. I don't really think of 18-year-olds as adults, though, really. I think of them as teens/young adults. I'm 18 myself. I don't feel like an adult at all, and I'm not even immature.XD4NTESINF3RNOXI'm 20 and I don't feel like an adult D: maybe that's because I'm 5'6 :P Haha I am 3 inches taller than you!

I'm 20, and most of my friends are all older than me. When we're all together and looking for things to do, they always decide on the bars and clubs while I get left behind...they don't actually leave me, but I still feel bad for holding them back. Damn illogical US laws! :x
