Is America really full of gangs and violence?

I've been watch alot of American gang docs and shows like Gangland, and they emphasis the gangs like they were everywhere, I mean 100,000 gang members in LA, you got to be joking.

America's full of a lot of things.

I doubt they are "everywhere", Rural towns in the middle of seemingly nowhere isn't likely to have a gang in it, But the major cities are pretty much certain to have two or more gangs. And it isn't just in the US, Europe, South America and Asia have gangs aswell, or Organized crime syndicates/groups.Treflis

there may in fact be 120 million members

but that doesnt mean that theyre all commiting crimes simultaneously on a daily basis (its not as bad as it was in the early 90's)

Aside from robberies, grand theft, and club shootings - it's been pretty tame the last couple of years.
Christmas just passed and about 4 people I know had loved ones robbed at knife/gunpoint.

It used to be more dangerous here, now yuppies and tourist can walk freely through the streets like they're in Manhattan SMH.

No. It's not like that. I've lived in either Dayton or Cincinnati for most of my life. For as long as I can remember they've both been showing up on "Most Dangerous Cities" lists. Yeah, theres a lot of crime. There's gang activity. LOTS of drugs.

But for the most part if you mind your business everyone else minds theirs. You just have to watch out. I guess that could be hard though if you don't know what to look for.

Hmmm.. Ganglands is not a Hollywood production from what I know, it was aired on the history channel for crying out loud. The United States does have a gang problem, but so do most countries.. I would say we are probably the worse of first world countries no where the worse in countries overall.

1. No, we are not swarming with gangs. THere are just areas with a high ratio of gang members. You will not get shot if you come to America unless youre an idiot and go to the wrong area. And just stay out of LA lol, I dont know why anyone would live there outside of professional reasons

2. What is capitalism lacking in the equality department? Its pretty fair; it rewards hard work, punishes slackers, and rewards/penalizes risk greatly. It just gets abused quite frequently by the very rich.
