Is anime GENERALLY manly or girly?

What's your opinion? Personally I consider it all generally feminine -- I see nothing manly about it, at all.

I'd be self-cautious about my sexuality if I thought that Cloud was cool. Not trying to be mean, I'm just saying.:lol:

It's really hard to tell when you're just looking at the mainstream stuff, it's even harder when you look beyond the surface.

If you choose what to enjoy based on whether it threatens your sexuality, I think there's your problem. :P

I've always considered most of them to be aimed at guys, considering how many shows there are with one average-looking guy protagonist surrounded by a dozen big-breasted air-headed "anime babes".

But it depends a lot on the anime show, there are shows aimed specifically at guys and shows aimed specifically at girls and those two genres are as different as day and night.

Berserk, Fist of the North Star = Muy muy Macho!

Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis Evangelion = Cerebral

Nausicaa, Laputa = Epic adventure

Fruits Basket, Full Moon, To Heart = super girly girl

...and honestly you could keep going on and on with a wide variety of categories. The anime field is a very wide and all-encompassing genre full of almost any classification you could think of.
