I see nothing wrong in not caring. Sometimes people care too much. Honestly, we have to dole out apologizes to every offence we make, regardless of the intent to offend or not. I say, "**** off. I don't give a ****". That's just honesty right there folks.
It does bother me. Another one that bothered me was when the PS3 came out and people kept saying 'just wait until they harness the power the PS3 can achieve'. That really annoyed me.

He is not talking about that. He is saying that saying could instead of couldn't is incorrect based on what they are trying to say (that they do not care at all and it is not possible to care less)

Anyway, I think I am more put off by the improper usage of your/you're than the could/couldn't care less thing. It really isn't that difficult to know when to use "your" instead of "you are".
