Blue moon tastes good, who cares. Something like Mike's Hard could be considered girly by societal standards but not blue moon. Beer is Beer.

I dunno, it is generally lighter and is more of a citrus-y hefewizen, so it might not be as intimidating, but I don't see how it is a girls drink at all??? Anyone care to explain the reasoning behind that notion that it is a girls beer?

There is no assigned gender for what beer you drink.

Everyone gets boobs in the end for drinking too much beer.

blue moon is a "Wit" style beer, a belgian "white" beer traditionally made with barley and wheat, mildly hopped, then spiced with coriander and orange peel.

Blue Moon is owned by Coors and, while I would not consider it a girly beer, it is often served with a slice of orange (or orange juice), making it one of the "less beery" tasting beers out there.

There are much better beers to drink (Hoegarten is the same style, but of better quality), but Blue Moon is not a girly beer.

But for God's sake, do not put the orange in it.

At the brewery I used to work at, the girls loved our stouts.  It's funny, because people assume women wont like heavy beers, but you tell them it tastes like chocolate, caramel, and coffee and suddenly they can't get enough of it.

So, if a stout is a girly beer, well I guess I am a girly man.

Blue Moon is amazing! 27 year old guy here. People look at me weird when I dont order a Blue Moon just cus thats what I usually get. My bday was a couple weeks ago and my friend asked what I wanted at the bar, I said "ohhh a Bud Lite is fine". She came back with a Blue Moon and said "thats what you really meant right?!", I said "......YUP".

Yes. And why the stereotypes? I know girls that can drink guys under the table and not with so called girly drinks...and guys that can't handle alcohol or do drink the pretty little sweet drinks assumed to be girly. It's 2013....can we come out of the cave yet?

I've never met a girl who enjoyed stout. Even after they've been told it tastes chocolately.

Even if people do think it is.. Who the hell cares? If you like it drink it. Blue moon is great. People like different types of beer.. I hate dark beer like Guinness.. but many people love it.

However Blue Moon and Gunness are both cheap mass produced versions of real beers of the same style. Unfortunatly though, ever since prohibition, people don't know style. They only know brand name. Beer is almost the same exact recipe as bread and beers like Budweiser, Blue Moon, Guinness, etc are the Beer equivalent of Wonder Bread. It's like White Castle sliders vs Choice Ribeye. Even more interesting, the only thing people associate beer with is dark and light which is even cheap wine drinkers are more advanced with in knowledge. Stout and Porter would both be considered Dark Beer by Budweiser, Miller and Coors soceity. But realistically their profiles are entirely different. And unlike Guinness, most stouts don't taste like wood.

I trust you, I don't know much about beer at all as I hardly drink. I prefer marijuana. That I know a lot about.

No, belgian white, or hefenweizen, is a perfectly acceptable kind of beer. It's actually the only beer I like. I hate the bitter aftertaste of most others.

Believe it or not, its actually the so called "Man" beers that are girly. When prohibition ended, most men were away at war. It was the women who were still on the home front which is part of how these light beers light beers like Budweiser, Miller and Coors became so successful. At the time, they didnt really fit the profile of what men really consumed. They were light and bland but since they are consumed ice cold, it freezes your taste buds so you couldn't taste the corn.
