I'm a pretty hairy guy. I had chest hair when i was 13, and I started growing a beard when I was 12. I personally hate it and I constantly shave my chest hair, but I like to have a little beard.ujjval16
Why? I never understood this, I guess if you prefer it but it seems to be a trend, chest hair 9When properly groomed) looks good in my opinion, I know my GF likes it too :) Also the only girl I know who preferred shaved men turned out to be bi sexual so...

I don't know why I hate it, the hair just really irritates me, it doesn't feel as nice when I put a shirt on.I'm a pretty hairy guy. Beards, now those are nice
How is chest hair disgusting? I find men without it look stupid to be honest.Im_singleI find it primitive. I think mankind has evolved enough to forgo the evolutionary need of chest hair, whatever that might have been.
Honestly I'll admit, I've shaved my chest and stomach area a few times. My hair seems to just sprout randomly and slowly, so it looks dumb. Same goes with my facial hair, can't grow a mustache or beard because all the hair just sprouts at different lengths and locations. I just look better clean shaven.
I make Chewbacca look like a shaved rat...Which means I should probably do some massive shave work but I honestly can't find the time to mow it down.
▲ Yes. Hollywood pretty boys may shave stuff, but excessive hair is a manly trait. And I'm damn proud of my manliness. ▲

You know what, you're right. If having chest hair is manly, I could rip a bear in half with my pinky finger and I'll be damned if I want to shave it away!

It's a display of having higher testosterone levels so, from a biological standpoint, it does.
Uh, idk. Too much looks weird. I have chest hair, but not a lot, there's more hair on belly then on my chest.
I shave mine, it sucks.....really bad. Oh well i guess thats what i get for trying to work out again and show off my manly muscles...i mean...my gamer arms.

In our modern society having higher testosterone levels than the next guy does not make a difference. There is so much more to being a man than that. It's manly in the sense that having it is proof that you're a man, but if you need chest hair to prove you're a man then you're probably not a very manly man.
Manly or not, it's still disgusting though.
......Chest Hair IS manly. There is nothing more manly then just a carpet of black hair on a mans chest. THe day chest hair stops being manly is the day the term manly ceases to exist

I think it's manly.
I've had girlfriends who liked it and those who didn't.
I just make them shave their areas too. :x
Maybe I should change the question to, "Are you more manly with or without chest hair?"cd_rom
yup, you should edit your original post, people don't seem to understand what you mean!
Chest hair is pretty manly I guess. I'm not sure I'd want it though, but I did read a survey, and 60% of women prefer a hairy chest supposedly. However, that is women, not the average girl. I'm not hairy until about six inches above waist. then i have plenty of hair from there down. it's weird I know. Back hair, the lot, and I'm damn proud.
Gettin' even. :lol:I think it's manly.

Why must I go through the inconvenience for their benefit?
They should accept me the way I am.
:(
that pic in the first page made me throw up a little.. XD

Which one?
They all were gross. :o
Yeah, I'm alright with shaving the chest if people are really bothered by it. Shaving legs or arms however, is just wrong in my opinion. Unless they're into pro cycling or swimming or something.Guys who have baby slick chests and legs are kind of gross in my opinion. It just seems wrong.

In our modern society having higher testosterone levels than the next guy does not make a difference. There is so much more to being a man than that. The physical body and it's traits seem like the best indication of the level of masculinity. Suggesting that having a strong character or some such makes oneself a man, indicates to me that a woman would be a "man" (which has obviously negative connotations in our modern society, as you put it) were she of these typically positive attributes.
This whole thread has a song stuck in my head. The theme song for the movie Orgazmo called Now You're A Man and if you have not heard of the movie it isn't a porno. :)
