So apparently, I curse. I don't curse a lot as in I'll curse anything/everything for no apparent reason, but more like the casual "fvck it" or "what the fvck" in real life. Anyways, whenever I casually do it there is this girl who keeps saying to me "don't curse" or another sort of statement to show her disapproval and her moral high ground.

That got me thinking, is cussing considered a turn off?

Yes, definitely. There are some instances where cursing is fine, like if you're mad, but other than that, I think cursing is uncalled for.

I do it a lot too, but it's a cultural thing here to curse (especially with dideases).

It's fine in moderation.  I don't like uptight types who chastise you for any cursing, but I also don't like those with a limited vocabulary who seem incapable of finishing a sentence without cursing.  Both extremes are turn offs.

As long as you don' t overdo it(like putting a curse in every one of your sentences) then I don' t have a problem. I don' t like it when girls curse though.

actually,a lot of women love it when men curse, especially when they watch sports/play sports or another "traditional" male activity.even if they say they dont they like it,it shows their"brutal" self.but there are instances where it's an immediate turn off, like cursing at a kid or something,or a waiter/employee at a store.men dont mind women cursing as long as its not contant where it becomes de-feminising

I don't mind when people do it. It's not a turn off for me when women do it to be honest. I curse too.

I do it a lot and my gf has picked up on it and it annoys me. It just seems so forced when she says it whereas I say it much more naturally

If it is all the time or used in an annoying and immature manner, it is.  But otherwise no.  I swear, but not every other word and not in places it feels out of place.

It is to me. In small doses it's fine and even appropriate, but if someone can't have a conversation without having to throw in some swears that definitely makes me look at them negatively. Not because I'm morally repulsed by their use of the words, but because of how lazy and brainless it is. Kind of like people that say "like" at the beginning, middle, and end of every sentence.

When it comes to women, it depends on how they curse. Some are classy, some are thrashy. And also as with all things, do it in moderation.

I do my best not to because it looks unprofessional both at work and off work. Now, if it's a spontaneous reaction to something bad, then I don't mind. I certainly don't curse at home. My wife doesn't curse and neither do my kids and my mother in law.

It all depends on how they use it. I'm fine with cursing to add emphasis, I do it a lot. However, there are some people that go overboard and use them when they're not needed and that's really annoying. Basically anyone that just throws curse words into sentences for no reason is annoying.

Some people make cursing a primary part of their vocabulary, and it makes them sound incredibly uneducated. I much prefer people who can engage in conversation without cursing every other sentence.

One of the sexiest things in the world a woman can say is an emotionally-charged "fvck me". As Patrick Star once said, they are "sentence enhancers" when used correctly.

Only if the situation presents itself. I don't want to bring a girl home to my folks and she is cursing every other word. I, myself, curse to release my anger from life's curve balls. I also curse when the context seems right.

Not really. I'd date someone who swears gratuitously, over someone who gasps at every "gawddam" i lay down.

In normal conversation there really isnt much of a need to curse with an exception of being very frustrated and throwing one in for emphasis. I personally rarely curse even with close friends. I probably do most of my cussing when i'm in my car alone and there are idiot drivers around me.

There's a definite art to swearing, and it can easily be overdone.  I get really annoyed when someone drops f-bombs in every single sentence.

It depends. It can be a turn on at time and add a flavor and some zest to a conversation/person. Though at other times it can really be unclassy and kind of vulgar.

I try not to. But I work at a "boys club" so we are constantly shouting abuse at each other. Sometimes it just happens at home or in the car and I do my best not to. I DO take issue where people are making an obvious effort to add as many swear words into a sentence... Its really not as cool as some people think

Naturally his command of the English language garnered him many female admirers and as such, he was even selected to join some prestigious off camps societies, apparently they gave you a .9mm for joining, They asked me if I wanted in, but I was all like **** that, and they were all like, ***** please.

Yes.

I never really had an issue with it until I was with this girl in high school. I swear, it seemed like she'd swear with every sentence she spoke.

Strange, as my father swears a lot too, but I guess it's because I've been so used to it, ever since I was a kid.

As I get older it becomes a thing that is less acceptable in more places. I personally don't have a problem with cursing. At some point it is a turn off, but I don't think I have ever evaluated where my personal line is.

If you say it in every sentence and word you say, its annoying as hell, it loses meaning. If you only curse the odd time when your stressed then thats fine.

It depends on the situation and frequency. I don't have a problem at all though if that's how a group of friends communicates, I mean sometimes it can be fun to constantly throw in curse words when you're just hanging out with a friend (assuming the friend does the same).
