DragonForce is one of my favorite bands, but i hear people say their not real metal and all that crap. They don't sound that heavy because their Speed Metal, not Heavy Metal. Also, I hear people say they suck, whats your opinion
They are overrated I think. Sure part of the problem is that I am not a power metal fan, but the main issue is all the credit Herman gets. He speeds up his recordings in studios and then has major issues playing songs live. It is just patetic.
I will say that Through the FIre and Flames on expert in GH3 is one of the funenst things ever, even though I can only get 81% into the song.....
I can see why some people like them (less screaming in vocals...and just a cleaner sound), but I cannot stand listening to them. It sounds too "pop-ish" if that makes sense. Their music feels like english j-pop to me....
I understand what you mean, I myself like death metal better. But it's just the upbeat sound that DragonForce has that makes me like them. I also understand if people don't like them, but if they hate metal all together, thats when I have a problem.
Generic power metal with a ****** gimmick that artists can't even live up to. All the songs sound the same and are boring. Terrible songwriting. So repetitive. Hell yes they are.

they're power metal, not speed metal. there are tons of better power metal bands than them. Herman Li speeds up his guitar in the studio, then can barely play the songs when they perform live. most their songs are repetitive, and sound the same. pretty much the only compliment i have for the band is Z.P. Theart has a pretty good voice...

I like the band and have no problem with them, but they don't progress with their music much. That being said if you think they are the best metal band, then I would say you overrate them.
I own one cd from them, Valley of the Damned, they are a bit cheesy, but meh, I listen to it for fun. But theres far better power metal bands out there than these wimpy fairies.
Inhuman Rampage wasn't the greatest album ever, their first album, Valley of the Damned was much better (with Sonic FireStorm being good too, but not quite as good as VotD). I've seen them live twice, and I have to say that they did play well both times. They're good musicians, I do think they wrote good music (before Inhuman Rampage), but alas, they are slightly overrated... That's more to do with people in general rather than the band themselves.

It's POWER METAL not speed. Everyone always says that they're speed metal, but that is very untrue. >.>
Their songs sound very alike. Their lyrics are atrocious. They bring good energy, but some of their songs are too long and instead of being epic they're tiresome.
I dont care what Genere of Metal they are, they rock and thats all I care about. Although I have heard that they speed up their music which would be a let down if it was true
they're metal. I just don't like them much at all. They can make stuff sound good in the studio, but they can't play it live to save their lives. Plus, their material gets incredibly boring and repetitive to listen to after awhile. I swore that the first time I listened to Inhuman Rampage, I thought I was listening to one incredibly long song. AND THEY USE TOO MUCH ****ING WAH! :evil:
but at leat they have a singer, not just some moron who screams into the mic.
They're pop, like half of all metal nowadays.

what bands are you talking about? :? of you mean crap like Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Bullet for my Velentine ,etc. those aren't metal...
