I support legalization and I have never smoked Marijuana.

I don't know how much money the government could realistically make off it, though. Large market mechanisms and production centers are already in place and the black market would probably flourish in the presence of high government prices. Alcohol and Tobacco have been successfull becase, really, how many people produce those themselves?

I don't smoke pot and I on the fence regarding legalisation. From what I've read, pot is carcinogenic (can cause cancer) and if that's true then the whole "not bad for your health" argument doesn't really stand.AnObscureName

That whole point is totally irrelevant to me. The government has no legitimacy in arbitrating what you put into your body.

Don't oppose something that you've never had the courage to try yourself, it makes you look stupid.

Yeah, it takes a real big man to try Marijuana.

I support it and I don't smoke pot. The reasons I support it is it would virtually get rid of the massive drug trade around where I live (Aside from the harder drugs) and it would be mor eincome for the government which they can use for city infrastructure and events.

The smoke is carcinogenic, and this can be avoided by using a vaporizer, something you CAN'T do with cigarettes. The vaporizer works by heating the marijuana to about 200 degrees with a gentle heat instead of a flame. This releases the THC and CBN, usually into a balloon-like bag, which you then simply remove and breath in. The vapor is clean and MUCH more potent than smoking. It also tastes better. That was your vaporizer 101 lesson for the day.

I support legalization and I don't smoke. It's for responsible adults to decide if they want to use marijuana or not.

Umm, my statement could be applied to anything from bungie jumping to baking cookies. Fear of the unknown keeps people ignorant, which we've also been led to believe will keep us safe. You want to say you've smoked and oppose legalization, I can respect that, but a thread that started with so much blatant stupidity deserves to be called out.

Would you make the same claim for heroin and child molestation?

I support the legalization of it, and I don't smoke. It goes against the constitution. Why does the government have the right to tell me I can't harm my own body if I want to? The constitution says as long as you don't infringe on others rights, you have freedom. And I completely agree with the constitution, smoking cigarettes is legal, and drinking alcohol is legal, therefore marijuana should be legal also. Not to mention the fact that, marijuana is a major money maker for drug dealers, if it was legal then the government could put a tax on it, and people would buy it because it would be cheaper, stronger, and cleaner, and there would be an increase of tax money. There is no cons to it really. People already smoke, in fact I know people who have done it JUST because it is illegal.

I couldn't care less. Pot smokers aren't a big deal. In fact, they tend to be people who are too scared to try anything more potent, and they are right. I have spent a good amount of time around junkies, and that's where the real problem is.

I honestly do not care if they legalize it. If they don't, oh well. If they do, whatever.
At least the good weed smells better than most cigarettes.

i have and stopped, and i fully support it's legalization. I have never tried any other illegal drug, although there are some I'd like to try, and yet support their legalization too. I'm in control of my health, and i don't care about what other think of me. Why the hell would i care about what others do to themselves if it doesn't affect me? Bah, i say.

That's a ridiculous and desperate comparison. Is a Bible quote coming next?

Marijuana is natural to the Earth and takes absolutely ZERO amount of processing to be enjoyed. Heroin is a manufactured drug created from the opium derived from a poppy flowers seed pod. Opium has also been used for centuries as a natural drug, but it was man's experimental nature that led to the creation of morphine and then heroin. Should the use of morphine be outlawed?

And don't even compare my statement to child molestation. I was a victim of it, and though you might think common sense would allow most people to tell the difference between right and wrong, it isn't always the case. Those of us who have suffered through it can talk about it, so unless you have, don't bring it up again. The use of marijuana was a major contributor to my ability to deal with the pain of this abuse, and when I no longer needed it I stopped smoking it. I will always support a NATURAL and UNPROCESSED drug that has done so much for my healing, whether it's currently legal or not.

No bible quote, cause I'm not a Christian. The "Don't knock it until you've tried it" argument sucks.

Oh, and the "I was a victim, so you're not allowed to mention it unless you were" is a pretty underhand way to gain ground in an argument. My grandfathers both died before I was born, so don't let me ever catch you mentioning death or grandfathers on these boards.

I support legalization and I'm not a smoker, so you and your friends are wrong and therefore clearly all your opinions on the matter can be safely disregarded.xaos

I don't smoke pot. I've only done it twice and haven't had it since. I think as long as it's natural, it should be legal. I also think the same thing about coca leaves. The leaves are natural, but cocaine is man made. I have the Kat Williams stance on it. "You have to mix stuff together to make drugs. Baking soda, iodine, mix it up. I don't know the recipe, I'm just sayin".

This is true. You don't have to harvest dope and sell it/smoke it. You can grow it and put it on your front porch, just don't let any small children near it :|

I support it 100%. The money that could be made by the government, the health benefits outweigh the negative ones (my opinion), and really, why not?

Want to talk about leagalizing pot? Okay, but we do not talk about the actual use of drugs here. Sorry but the rules are very clear about that. Thanks
