yup, even the creator of it says that, lol.I remember when it used to make me laugh, not now though. I think its gone on far longer than it should have... as most things do.

I stopped watching it around series 7 or 8 I think.
Definitely not the worst show ever though, it used to be brilliant.
Anyone who would try and seriously say Family Guy is the worst show ever clearly has no experience with tv shows or just a terrible sense of humour.
The first 3 seasons of Fmily Guy are some of the funniest television ever made.
Even the less-good seasons can still have laughs to be found.
Plenty of worse shows in existence....
I have always enjoyed Familiy guy and I still do, I actually find family guy one of the best comedy cartoons ever.
The concept may be simplistic but it is worked out very well, it portrays itself as a unserious comedy and acknowledges it's own faults. It even manages to turn critism in funny jokes. Furthermore if you are looking for story in a Family Guy episode then you are doing it wrong, it's a bunch of quality jokes mixed with quality references.
On your 'Family Guy is pushing liberal statements' argument, I have to say that it is irrelevant to the quality of a show. Family Guy simply caters to their fanbase, the styIe and unserious attitude simply suits the liberal way of thinking better. Every show on TV pushes statements that suit some people better then others, if you don't like it watch another show. Furthermore there are several episodes that put Brian and his liberal statements to shame.
It's awsome how some people continue to refer to South Park as a example of a good story. That simply proves that they don't know what they are talking about. A South Park episode isn't complex at all, it consist of a single moral statement streched out over episode while making severe exaggerations and while using extreme stereotypes. I don't see how this is much more complex then Family Guy.
So simply said, no it's not the worst show ever. The avarage 'not so smart humans cramped together in a odd situation' show is much worse.
I like family guy, I really do but the only thing I don't like about them is they go after christianity alot. They do not seem to go after any other religon or faith, they do this because probably 1 or 2 things. 1, christians are very tolerable and patient and 2 they are scared. I wish they would man up if you are gonna go after one in good laughs go after all.
I don't understand the whole "FG went downhill after season 3/4" argument. The first couple seasons were awful. They weren't clever in slightest. The first 2 seasonsin particular were horrendous. The show didn't really hit a groove until the third season in my opinion.

Nah, the entirety of the first 3 seasons were just golden. There is like not a single episode that isnt great in seasons 1-3.
I mean, even the pilot is fantastic and has those jokes that used to be FUNNILY offensive, rather than some of the simply gross and/or offensive unfunny jokes that brought down the later seasons.
i LOVE family guy.
ghostwarrior786
Im with this guy
These days you get alot of hate if you like Family Guy or South Park

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. There is not one funny episode in my opinion before season 3. It's almost painful to watch. Thankfully it got better though. Some of the more recent seasons have been hilarious.

Agreed the first were awful and now it's almost decent. I don't get why everyone wants stewie to be evil again. That got boring after half an episode. So repetitive. At least when he's gay there are much more variety. There are so much more you can joke about with gayness than evilness[QUOTE="KH-mixerX"]

In my opinion, Peter is the character that has improved the most over the years. At least half of that improvement is owed to improved animation.
I admit that the show has it's faults. I've seen new episodes that have completely failed in the comedy department. But compared to the first two seasons, the current seasons are a gold mine of laughs.

Actually it has been gay Stewie that has gotten incredibly monotonous, not evil Stewie...
Brian has also suffered as he became more and more of an ass over the seasons instead of being the intelligent counter-point to Peter's stupidity.
The show has seriously gone downhill and unfortunately I don't ever see it getting back to the glory days of those first 3 seasons....

I hope it never gets back to what you call "the glory days." I will agree with you to an extent on Brian. His liberal act has gotten incredibly annoying in recent years. Although his character still can be funny from time to time, he isn't as funny as he used to be. Stewie on the other hand is gotten infinitely funnier since the beginning of the show. Evil Stewie is a one trick pony. He wants to rule the world and kill Louis. There's only so many ways you can portray that in the show before it gets old. There was a time when it was funny. But not anymore. Hence the introduction of gay Stewie. The good thing about gay Stewie is that there's almost an infinite amount of ways to hint at his homosexuality. Eventually, the well will run dry, and the writers will move on. Just how they did with his evil persona. If the evil act was still funny, they wouldn't have left it in the dust. Plain and simple.
I do think the show is a subliminal message for a liberal agenda I agree with that and there truly is little doubt of that.
Is it overrated yes easily one of the most overrated animated shows of all time
That said the show aint THAT BAD it is funny at times
I love how nearly every mainstream thing gets politicized nowadays and it's almost always a "Liberal Agenda." That being said, do you understand the word subliminal? In Family Guys case it's not really subliminal.I do think the show is a subliminal message for a liberal agenda I agree with that and there truly is little doubt of that.

Gay Stewie has already been done to death...
It gets old seeing them use ANY TINY opportunity to hint at Stewie's latent homosexuality...
The characters personalities were alot more balanced and funny in the beginning. What people don't realize is that Seth Mcfarlane was actually pretty intelligent with his creating that family and he has specific points and purposes for each character in the beginning.
The balance has changed over the years and it just doesn't really work like it used to. Brian used to be there to be the intelligent counterpoint to Peter's stupidity, rather than his current act of being a raging liberal douche (and this is coming from someone who holds alot of liberal views as well), Stewie on the other hand was the evil genius who, despite being a baby, was somehow more intelligent than the rest of the family, yet the family never sees this and his plans for world domination were always held back by his being a baby which worked as a wonderful joke.
I do think they made Meg a bit funnier over the years. I do appreciate them using her as a punching bag and I really do think it fit really well with the chemistry of the family. After all, it is funny the way her mother is considered a stone cold fox in the show, yet she is considered horrendous by everyone except Neil and on top of that she just has nothing going for her.
Also, I have to ask, do they still get Adam West on that show? He and Stewie are my fav characters on the show and I just realized I don't think I have seen Adam West on there for a while, granted I don't really keep up with new episodes at this point...
