Depends which one you're talking about. God is for male deities so it would have to be male in origin. Goddess being the female term.

The Abrahamic God however is male, a former patriarch of the pantheon along with an equivalent female (likely Ashera or variant mother Goddess). We can see this in the extremely patriarchal structure in the organization of the belief and it's inherent misogyny. Essentially, it's a God made by men for men.
