Here is the question (well, there are a lot of questions, but you got the point):

Lets assume there really is a God, a divine creator and everything there is to say about the man. Why is he above us? Do we not exist like he does? Do we not judge, love, help, like he is supposed to? Are we not good enough to him? Why should we praise him?

Remember the question "If God is so powerful, why do we need to praise him"? This is what i want to know.

the better question is why shoulden't we praise him?

That's how GS is really. Someone comes up wtih a thread, then someone is insipired by it and posts a similar thread that varies only slightly. Sure the post could've gone in the other thread but.. I dunno. I have no idea why it works like that.

He's our creator. He could have very well not created you. Think of the relationship with your mother. It is very similiar to that, except much more. He created you, your mother, the norishments around you, taught you to speak, etc. In fact, why don't you just hear what God has to say about it in surah Ar-Rahman, where God is answering pretty much this same question you pose to Him:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr8DR8frP_s

Nope, as far as I can tell he has no effect on us. When someone gets run over by a truck, it wasn't God, it was the truck driver. When Hitler killed millions of Jews, it was Hitler's will, not God's. When someone gets saved from a burning building it was the fireman who did it and not God. When I eat dinner it was my parents that provided it for me, not God. I'm not about to praise God for providing me with food or anything when it's my parents who've worked their asses off to get it for me. And I need proof that he did these things.

proof? that my friend is called faith. he gave us a brain to make our own decisions in order to test us, if we do good we are rewarded just like a father rewards a son for getting a good test grade. if we do bad we are punished just like you get grounded for sneaking out ur house. hitler was punished and your parents (if they lead a fruitful life towards God) will be rewarded

That is one of the things that confuses me. I mean if i was the kindest soul you would ever meet, but if i didn't believe in God.

I would be punished just for that with eternal damnation. That doesn't exactly sound like a loving deity.

One on the reasons why i question this is time. I mean it would be easier to believe in a supreme being before Evolution,Big Bang, etc. Not to mention the ammount of information about all the horrible things that goes on around the world. That is easy available to us right now.

acording to the bible god made us.

He made us in his image and when adam or eve i dunno ate from the tree of knowledge we learnt how to sin at least i think thats what happened.

and since god is the only one who cannot sin other than jesus of course he is above us.

Correct me if im wrong i dont know much about the bible.

Hitler was stopped...by man and not God. Men stormed the beaches, men took the bullets, men coordinated the assaults and men sacrificed their lives so that their comrades could gain just another inch towards Berlin. Where was God there? How could he even let a Hitler exist if he's so intertwined in our everyday affairs? And where is this so called punishment? I see a hell of alot of rich corrupt businessman that sit on their asses all day making millions by exploiting children in third world countries. Where is God there? Why are they being punished? What have they ever done to deserve living in poverty? Why isn't God helping these people and punishing those evil SOBs?

I don't think that God would ever send a good person to hell. I believe that atheists can go to heaven too. I bet it's harder though.

The big bang and evolution does not disprove God. The Bible is not specific as to how God created the earth or the animals or even man. The Bible is also not specific as to how long one day was. The whole seven days thing was purely symbolic. One day cold have ben thousands of years in our time system. Maybe God used the big bang to shape the earth and then slowly evolved creatures untill He got to man.

I never said it did, but you can see the people who have trouble believing because of things like that. I understand that the bible is not supposed to be intreprited like that. I mean what do you think would happen if they wrote 4,5 billion years instead of...

(remember this is back when people thought that the earth was flat)

You see God give money to homeless every day. God is in us all. He is the good in us. When we are evil it is because of the absence of God. When we give money to the homeless and care for others, etc. it is partially God's doing.

God didn't stop Hitler because the world wasn't meant to be perfect. He left us to decide on our own how good or evil we will be. Hitler did those things because he chose to do them, and God gave us the ability to chose. He will then punish or reward everyone based on the choices they made in life.

I understand how people can say they don't believe in God because of how horrible the world is. People who do evil will be punished, but not immediately. It will happen on their judgement day. This all just depends on your faith, but your asking all the wrong questions.

Ask not what God can do for you, ask what you can do for God.

A supernatural being...so yeah, it's possible. And that is the real answer to your question. The thought that God is in the sky is what little fifth graders imagine when they think of God, but the spiritual world is all around us.

just that justice really means little when people can get a free ticket without paying anything.

A murderer who converts to god has a better chance of getting into heaven than an atheist who lives the greatest life, fulfilling dreams for everyone that s/he meets. God isn't above logic apparently.
