naaaa theyre not, i actually watched both and well, they were sorta good but actually it is a stereotyped movie, so it kinda mixed all the stereotypes there and eli roth found some info of people there who would pay around 10,000 dollars to shoot or kill somebody, but the story itself as you getting kidnapped and tortured by rich ppl and all tht is pretty fake, well thought XD
yeah, at first it also scared the hell off me!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was also based on true events same for The Hills Have Eyes.nVidiaGaMer
The Hills Have Eyes? Are you kiddin me?
The hills have eyes was based on a true story in that we did kill miners who refused to leave...but they didn't come back and try to kill every as cannibalistic Cavemen.....
Texas Chainsaw Massacre isn't based on a true story...there was never a cannibalistic family killing young teenages in Texas...Leather face is loosely based off of Ed Gein http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Gein
There's a real disorder (AKA Fetish) where people are sexually attracted to human torture.
Hostel may be that.
Apparently the tourism in that area of Europe has really suffered because of that movie :lol:Kritical_Strike
yeah..slovakian goverment sent lot of messeges to the producers saying you are destroying our nice country with your movie..showing poverty..sex..crimes and mainly the hostel
Hostel is excellent. It is very well possible that there are places like that in the world its very, very possible. SilvrDog
That's probably true, but I doubt it's as big or as well planned out as Hostel. Maybe some people just call this one guy to bring someone over to their house to torture. I doubt there would be a large factory like that. It's a creepy thought, though.
Also, you can just tell that that the Hostel movies are fake. There's no way Paxton or Beth would've gotten away from the murderers in the movie. I mean, the way they escape are so stupid... Those people must really be careless.
hey..the movies hostel//on it is says"inspired by true events :O my frnd cant sleep at night after he saw it :P and after he read the thing he was pwned by fear...kirk4ever
tell your friend not to worry. they say these things so people will get more scared (scared=better experience=more money for company.) same thing with blair witch project, do you really think witches exist? if you do then you should be put out of your misery.dylan9999
There are actual people that practice wicca, but i'm not saying that the blair witch project is true or anything.

Jeez...
I just watched some clips of those....and I can see why they were made illegal :?
That wasnt scary it was just disturbing
Hostel was a documentary; everything you saw, 100% real.StevenCrockett6
Endless amounts of bewbies and girl parts.......
small risk of getting my eyeball super heated with a blowtorch and then snipped off by a punk kid who thinks hes doing me a favor.......
too risky :(
Star Wars was based on true life events.
EboyLOL
Exactly, Luke Skywalker came to the past to give us this awesome movie.
