Is it half full or half empty? Guess what? It's not both. It never was.

This be glass filled with half of water yes? Ok, so some would say both, one could claim one or the other, there are several factors, there are no factors lalala. Some say that the words are meaningless. Some say they don't care. All idiots. This is very simple, when you empty something out and when you fill it up is what the key to the door of this severe problem is. If you drink half the cub, it is half empty because you EMPTIED the WATER out the CUP. If you are filling the water, than it is half full because you are PUTTING the WATER in the CUP! Hopefully this will ease all confusion. -College pwofessor.

That glass isn't even half-way filled, because the capacity at the top is greater than the capacity at the bottom.

All it does is prove the point of my thread, it's not both. But many people complicate things, there should be none, hopefully this makes you better human beings.

From a mathematical point of view, the correct term would be half full. If we take 1 to represent 'full', and 0 to represent 'empty', then there exists a possibility for there being a 'half full' glass (1/2). However, since (0/2) is still 0, then you can't have a half empty glass. How I see it anyway.

Incorrect my student you get an F. If X was to represent full and 0 was to represent empty, then you WOULD be right about o/2 still being zero, EXCEPT the part that is not empty would be added to the 0 making a positive integer. So the only actual FACT is that when you empty something, it will be empty, and you fill something it shall be full. -collese pwofessor.

There will still be half. Unless you disintegrate, there will always be half left. Cutting glass does nothing.

It's not whether the glass is half-full or half-empty. It's what's in the glass that counts.

Incorrect. Let's use this as an example, the norovirus is spreading like cheese on toast, and it's chances of getting to someone else is very very high. So when you are thirsty and want a glass of water, and they have glasses of water at a table in the office or for this glasses of soda as that would make more sense. Now, say Jill has the virus, and she drank out the cup, and all the other cups were filled up by someone else. Now let;s say she got here drinks mixed in. I would rather know which cup is half empty instead of half full because we would know who drank it preventing the virus no? -college pwofessor

Basically, when things in your life go wrong and you/or you lose something you feel is wanted/needed/important, you can always fill up what was taken away you. Even if you are struggling to do so, you can relax once you get half way there, and you will no you have an even chance f success or moving on depending on the scenario. -college pwofessor.

It's true, personally that virus is temp but a pain in the butt from what I read, in that situation, you need to know if the glasses are half full or empty.

Hmm, so immigration talk is not allowed on this forum. Interesting. Back on topic, so do you have some sort of issue with the first post? I think it makes perfect sense that empty and full is a very easy thing to settle.
