20 pushups won't kill you. :P They'd kill me however...fidosimmeh, work your way up like i did, do 2 one day then 3 then 4
Yes, your arms will break, and then possibly fall off. I don't know about everyone else, but puberty's gonna be tough for ya.aaaaarrrrgggggit already is
I find exercise I don't want to do unnecessary. I could care less if I was fat, I'd still be a sexy thang. Greatgone12

I don't know. How does your username make sense?Exactly... You're just not to question it.
Push-ups are fine. What you're talking about is body building. Younger teenagers who get into weight-lifting from an earlier age (13, 14, 15...) often have their growth significantly stunted if they're putting themselves through consistant weight-training workouts.
20 push ups is nothing. It wont even build up any muscle. You need to do way more than that. :P
"I'd also point out that activities such as running and jumping
create forces on the body that are six to eight times one's body
weight. The compression forces on his legs and spine are far
greater in running and jumping than they will ever be in
squatting or pressing over head."
20 sounds good. Unless you're a stick. Just don't do too many to overwork yourself.Tell me please because i do 20 push-ups 4-5 times a week and is it healthy?

Is that true because in my freshmen football team we go to the gym everyday. Would doing power cleans or benching stunt my growth?
Hey, I'm 20 and have been doing push ups for a while now. I do 400 per day in sessions of 100 each, so it`s 200 in the morning and 200 in the afternoon it hasn't stunned my hight I'm 1.80 meters tall ;) and quite skinny too 65 kilos lol

Wow 400 a day? I can only do 200 push ups, 50 push ups at a time. I'm only 5'6, though, I've been short since forever.

There is no sense in over working your body during puberty because the rapid natural body growth can be slightly counteracted with working out too hard (because in reality working out/lifting weights is actually destroying old muscle tissue and rebuilding it with newer/stronger tissue)..wait till you hit 17 or 18 before you start seriously working out...but 15-20 pushups a day though wont hurt ya..
