Well, for the most part I would say no as that is a pretty high risk behavior and is a sign of someone who lacks impulse control. But I know someone who met their wife and slept togehter on the first day they met as it was just raw passion I guess, but they really love each other and got married soon after and now they have a kid.
But for the most part, no I don't think it's right. Plus if you don't really know someone how do you know they are clean or not? Most people sleep with someone they've gotten to know a little bit, it's not like those stupid TV shows like 2 and a half men where you just sleep with random girls every night. That's not real life and if you try to do that your going to end up with diseases, paying child support, and a bunch of angry women and their firends/family who want you dead.
[QUOTE="NerubianWeaver"]Nope. Sex is a sacred act and should only be saved after marriage. worlock77
What makes it sacred?
You know the first Christians used a fish as a symbol? And you know a cross is kinda like a penis and the fish kinda smells like you know. So when having sex it's like being 200% über christian. In other words pretty holy. It's morally okay, consenting adults and what not...There's no problem with it.
Morally okay? If it is a guy, then it is probably okay. If it is a girl, get ready to be called a whore, the answer would be no.
MistressMinako
No. The answer is the same for both genders, it is morally okay for both males and females. "Get ready to be called a whore"...Well, children can be so cruel, however you move off that once you pass high school. Other people's judgements mean nothing for personal morality. Besides, anyone who calls someone a whore for haing a sexual encounter is an insecure buffoon.

It's actually the first comandment in the Bible which is to go forth and mulitplay, plus there is an ENTIRE chapter in the Bible dedicated to the joys of Sex, it's called the Song of Songs I think, I haven't read it in awhile but one would have to be very naive not to understand it's message.
Sex is a good thing and it's a healthy thing, although I think it can be misused. But it's in the Bible and I consider it a gift from God, I like sex lol. I'm a bit of a different kind of religious man I guess lol.

Well I'm not sure. I thought they thought sex was good as long as it is within marriage? At least that's what alot of other christians think. But yeah it's true man the bible says sex is good!

It varies from sect to sect, the overall consensus is that yes it's meant for marriage but that's not always realistic and I know people who had fell in love and and had sex and got married later and their church didn't care. But some churches are more lienent than others, some like the Catholic church consider it a sin unless it's for procreation only, but they are getting that from Chruch doctine and that isn't even in the bible.
But yes, the bible says it's good

Galatians 5:19-21: 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft,
hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 5:3: But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Colossians 3:5-6: 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
MAN SAID: Free love! Uninhibited sexual freedom should be encouraged. Man is just another animal and to act like one is natural. Teach him safe sex."
The "First Commandment" is "Thou Shall Have No Other Gods Before Me". The "be fruitful" or "go forth and multiply" you bring up might have been mentioned for Adam and Eve, or perhaps for the members of Noah's family after the flood (as there were no other people) - but again - that would be confined to a marital relationship. Oh, and the title of the book you mention is "Song of Solomon". Not that I disagree that it's 'a gift from God'.

Better yet is it morally "ok" for priests to question married peoples lifestyles and offer them advice having no experience themselves ? Thats what I said when I had to goto a marriage course to get married in a catholic church. I told the priest no offense but you've never been married how can you possibly suggest how someone should live.

The only time I have ever seen a guy get yelled at or shamed is when he gets that girl pregnant. I am not in high school, these are adults I am talking about. Forties and above and below. It doesn't stop when you hit an adult stage you might just hear it less as they are probably gossiping to someone else about it. I never said it was morally wrong in my own mind but there are tons of others who think that women should be pure/virgin until marriage.Andrew_Xavier
Personally, I'd rather have sex with someone I know well. However, this is not a moral question unless you have conservative views of sex.ghoklebutterAgreed.
It isn't immoral as long as they agree with it, but there are some legal and health risks associated with that that you should be mindful of.

Most preachers I know aren't in a position to be giving anyone advice on anything, doesn't ever stop them. In fact I think it encourages them, no one listens to them because they're horrible at giving advice, so they become preachers in order to get people to take them seriously based on their position alone. My parents' current pastor is a perfect example of this. He's the biggest dipsh*t I've ever met, indecisive as hell, zero life experience, and probably around forty years younger than my parents, yet they listen to him because he wears white robes. Anyways, the idea that anyone needs to sign off on a marriage before it happens, much less someone who's pretty far removed from the couple as opposed to a parent, is ludacris to me. Taking a course in order to get married, it's arrogant as hell.
This may be a bit off-topic to our discussion, but where in the bible does it say that masturbation is bad? ive researched it alot and cant find any references to the act in the bible

I never said it was morally wrong in my own mind but there are tons of others who think that women should be pure/virgin until marriage. Religious extremists are an issue, but still do not define morality. Those people who gossip, will gossip about everything. If someone who is in their fourty's is still bent on juvenile "shaming", then I believe they have their own moral issues to deal with. Gossipers should not define how one feels about one's self, I mean, I'm considered rather popular in my real life, however I'm sure people talk s*it behind my back. It makes no difference to me. If someone calls the woman a "whore" to her face and demands she "remain pure", she ought to question what right they have to judge her...since they will of course done things she may not approve of in their own lives. Gossipy people tend to be lonely, and rather self conscious.[QUOTE="Andrew_Xavier"]No. The answer is the same for both genders, it is morally okay for both males and females. Don't see what's so morally wrong with it, tbh.
If it was sleeping with someone and you were married then, yeah, it's morally wrong and you're an @$$hole If it's just someone who you meet for the first time then, yeah, I see no reprocautions of it; espically if the woman/man agrees to said "sleepy" time.

i hear that quote alot as the "anti-masturbation" quote but i dont get it. The same quote seems to apply moreto sex outside of marraigein general. because he was supposed to get her pregnant, not just have sex with her and "pull out."
Another thing to consider was the fact that, at the time the bible was written, you generally didnt have sex unless you wanted to have children. since there were no condoms back then, the only form of birth control (to my knowledge)was "pulling out." Thats just what i learned in my religious studies class anyway
Sure, as long as you're both okay with it. The morality fairy doesn't care when conscenting adults decide to bang.

They believed the seed was finite. You're supposed to reproduce to create more followers, thus ejaculating outside of a woman destroys your god in a very real way.

Clearly Onan was destroyed because he buffed the bishop and not because he disobeyed a direct order from God.
