[QUOTE="MrPraline"]You could and I could still sleep at night, but I don't see why you would. Ruins the taste, it's slow and looks silly.Niff_T
How does it ruin the taste?
I actually don't understand this.
Taste was not the right word, I realised while rethinking that post. But um. Experience, I guess. Idk hard too explain. Cannot imagine drinking beer through one. I've had plenty of cocktails with straws though.[QUOTE="MrPraline"]You could and I could still sleep at night, but I don't see why you would. Ruins the taste, it's slow and looks silly.Niff_T

It's not that it ruins the taste, but the fact that it bypasses your taste buds to begin with.Â

I don't understand. You're not shooting it straight down your throat. The liquid still goes in your mouth, so how's it bypassing your taste buds?
That's for the response Praline. Your's actualy makes sense.

Due to the fact of where your taste buds are. You practically miss all but one by using a straw unless you fill your mouth up and remove the straw before swallowing (not a normal way of using a straw either).
The only place you are hitting when using a straw is the bitter taste buds. You do not get flow over your tongue due to the straw resting in the middle of your tongue as you would if drinking from a glass, bottle or can.Â
Well this all just got technical :P

I guess some people do not know how straws work. Just a guess.Â
If it is any kind of Pilsner type then sure go ahead, it is not exactly made to be a tasty drink.
Any type of Ale, Stout or Bog and I might raise an eyebrow if I were to see someone drink those out of a straw.
Then again that is just my take, given that my view of that kind of beer is pretty much the equalant of a soda. Not downed for the taste, not downed for the alcohol (they tend to have an alc% around 3.3-5.0) So to me they are not something one would enjoy for the craftmanship or care put into making them.

No wonder I was confused. I don't put straws that far into my mouth. When I drink from a straw, the liquid washes over my entire tongue. So I'm not missing out on anything.
My pastor says if you drink beer through a straw you could get an airbububle and die.

Orbs i love you.
I thought that was your posts. Well, taking them seriously that is.Â
air bubbles are the leading cause of brain death.

[QUOTE="MissLibrarian"]I wish. Yeah...that would be a reason to drink it that way....but it doesn't. And to those saying girls drink it through straws....never ever have I seen that anywhere. They may prefer a glass to the bottle....but that's about it. No straws. It gets you drunk more quickly.

No. Such behaviour is unacceptable. UNLESS - you're drinking the beer from a large novelty hat with long curvy straws going from the beer to your mouth. megagene
You mean like this?

How many do you know?[QUOTE="chaoscougar1"][QUOTE="Dark_Knight6"]
Except for the ones who do. Â

I don't see the point in throwing anecdotal evidence around. Â But I think I can safely assume that there is at least one woman in the roughly 3.5 billion on the planet who has, at some point, consumed beer through a straw. Â
Yeah
You're approach is much better
Yes.
Oops, I thought the question was "Am I a p*ssy if I drink beer through a straw?"
My real answer is no.

Hahahaha. Priceless.
[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]:| Beer is supposed to be bitter stupid. Order a tequila sunrise or Fruli if you want something sweet.Murderstyle75You are wrong and and all beer is bitter. There is nothing bitter about a Belgian Trippel or a Porter. All most mainstream Americans know though is the yellow, fizzy industrial stuff that has no complexity or flavor outside of bland bitterness. (Bud, Miller, Coors, Molson, Red Stripe, PBR, Labatt, Fosters, Heineken, etc, etc, etc.) Some are getting better though. Now if we could only get them away from the fake craft stuff like Blue Moon, Shock Top and Leinenkugels.
So a Jamacian, Dutch, Australian and a couple of Canadian beers are American swill? I am sure that the respective brewers of those beers will be glad to hear that.
